I am very disappointed in this site now. I was looking for an opinion too see if this was in fact cheating. All I got was sarcastic remarks. I was not trying to make Frimmers look like a fool. Although we did have some angry remarks at each other after I took over South America. The way I understood the rules when I joined is that there were to be no Secret Alliances... Such as that we would not attack each other at all and those were the ones to be announced in chat. So please everyone was new to the site at one time, so instead of immature name calling can someone please provide me with an answer?
Thankyou
Thankyou

Sorry if I wasn't clear. Do "Secret Alliances" classify as not attacking each other at all, just "Border Alliances", or both? As you see me and Frimmers had a border alliance at Central America and Venezuela, but did not announce it. I did not think we had to, but it seems I am mistaken. Could you tell me the correct?
Also I am sorry, Frimmers. I did not mean to start an uprising here. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't cheating or "backstabbing" my opponents. Thank you

people were making sarcastic remarks because when they looked at the game you are refering to, they do not see anything in the game chat that suggest there was a border alliances.
Since you are new, ALL alliances must be announced in the Game Chat. Therefore, since there is no alliance announced in the game chat, yet you claim there was an alliance, it must have been a "secret" alliance, since nobody in the game knew about it.
By the way, what you did seemed perfectly acceptable to me.

As far as I understand it, any deal, truce, alliance, etc you make with another player must be announced on the game chat or it is considered a secret alliance. And against the rules.
Doesn't matter where the truce is or how long or whatever. It should be announced to everyone else playing the game. So, yeah, you guys broke the rules. Perhaps it is a mistake and innocent... who knows?
You are saying that you made a secret alliance with him without realizing it was against the rules but he's saying that there was no alliance at all. Since the two of you have different stories, that makes the whole thing suspect.

I'm fine if you want to ban me. Ever since I've joined this site almost everyone has been a jerk to me. If I were the moderator I would concentrate on welcoming new people than banning people who did not have a complete understanding of the rules. So trust me when I say that I will suffer no major blow if I get banned. It's sad to see someone start a great website to only house members who ruin others experience's.

Ok, so we are back to this again? Beastly so far you have proved yourself useless in helping the conversation. If you are really concerned please bring a superior or moderator into the room so we can settle this. Do you honestly think I would have made a thread about myself cheating if I knew I was breaking the rules? Please stay out of this thread if you are just going to add more space in between helpful comments. Thanks

#2 was unclear to me. When I think of the word alliance I think of not attacking the opponent at all. Sir Titus proved to be the only helpful person on giving me information. I understand now that if I make any deal at all with a person it must be announced over the chat interface. This turned into a much bigger deal than I had expected. I thought I could have my answer in 2 posts, but I guess I was wrong. So go ahead and cancel my account if you would like, but that was the first game I have ever played on the site.

Sorry for posting twice in a row, I just feel I must justify my postion. I looked on dictionary.com for the definition of alliance. "The state of being allied or confederated ". Now since I attacked Frimmers in our game that clearly shows we were not allied. I was working to conquer him and my other opponents.
Think of all the trouble you would have saved yourself if you had let things be rather than starting a thread that was only intended to take a swing at me. The modorators have obviously taken a look at this and as neither of us are banned I would say it's time you just stopped talking.
You're right though, the behavior of some people in this thread is far worse than anything you and I may or may not have done.

sorry snoboard...
cheaters are not welcome, but you obviously made a mistake...
you are wrong on both accounts
he said he wouldnt attack venezuela from central and he didnt, therefore he didnt break the treaty...
since you talked about it elsewhere, and didnt explain it or announe it in the chat thats cheating...
it is an secret alliance even though it is only one border
easy enough
i edited this after caffeine wore off...sorry for its original sarcasm

oh yeah...
you guys had a secret alliance..you are lying about it
we are calling you on it because we cheaters ruin the game
and there is no way to avoid making fun of such a funny thing...it is beyond belief to those of us who understand this game
at least snoboarder is fessing up, and clearly didnt think it was illegal or he would not have posted it
you are denying it , and asking him to drop it.....how many other games have you done this in...if you will cheat in one you will cheat in another ...if you will lie about it in one...you will lie about it in another
snoboarder is naive, but you are a lying cheater....correct me if im wrong

Pretty much agree with AAFitz. Snoboard is a complete newbie. Even though the rules about secret alliances are clear, it's not a stretch to believe that he really didn't understand what it meant and broke the rules without knowing.
Frimmers, on the other hand, has been a member for close to a month and has finished 17 games. He definitely should have known better. He never fessed up to it and is only commenting on the manners of the other posters on the forum.
When people cheat and are found out, it's natural for everyone to jump on them and give them a hard time. Cheating ruins the fun of the game. I, for one, believe Frimmers to be a knowing cheater and I won't play any games against him. He's going on my ignore list.
By the way snoboard, to go way back to your original question, you were perfectly fine to attack him from Africa into South America. Your alliance, secret and illegal though it was, was only on the border of Central America and Venezuela. Attacking via a different route is perfectly acceptable. Frimmers should have known that too.

i cant help it now
you mean like the difference between stealing an apple or stealing an orange?
these really arent meant to be so negative..snoboard is naive, and i welcome you to the site...all secret alliances are illegal, dont do it again and have fun, but this is too easy to pass up...
