Quest for the Pick of Destiny [Canceled]

Post by joe cool 360 »

A MYPOORBRAIN Tournaments production

Whatsup everybody?
Alright, so this is my second tournament ever, yay!!
So, for those of you who played in my last tournament and really enjoyed it, I know I claimed that I was going to make it a series, well, I lied. Ultimate Showdown was fun, but I want to try different crap.
I came up with what I think is a very epic and awesome idea for a tournament. It is a world-wide quest for the PICK OF DESTINY.

Here’s the back-story: After ten-thousand years of leading the world with excellent metal, the band, Tenacious D, mysteriously disappeared from the face of the earth when Jables and Kage spontaneously combusted one day. That was eight years ago. Now, rumors have surfaced that the Pick of Destiny was left behind on Earth after the band’s disappearance. Eventually rumors exponentially evolved into mass hysteria and growing unrest amongst the civilian population. Residents of every continent on earth begin jostling each other, fighting for a chance to search for the Pick of Destiny. This is where the tournament begins.

Sign up for which continent you want to represent, there will be sixteen spots open for each continent.
The members of the continent will split into 2 groups of 8 and fight each other in 3 terminator-style games. All members will have the ability to play all the other members atleast once, sometimes two or three times. The person with the highest score from each continent will progress on to the next round, as well as one wild card player who was the overall 2nd highest scorer from all the continents.

NO QUESTION MARKS ALLOWED

READ BEFORE YOU SIGN UP
Alright, it is at this point that my tournament will depart from the style of most of the tournaments any of you have ever played. All of the games, maps, settings, etc. for the rounds after the first round will remain unknown to all players. They will not remain unknown because I’m going to allow someone to pick the settings or game type, they will remain unknown because I’m constructing this tournament like a story and the participants are the readers and characters. My hope is to keep the players in a state of suspense and constant surprise about what the tournament will do next. In addition, those who are not participating may want to check in and see what’s going on in the World-Wide Quest for the Pick of Destiny, so even if you’ve been eliminated or didn’t get a chance to sign-up, the fun doesn’t stop. However, I recognize that many people on this website have lives and may be unable to devote large amounts of time to a single tournament. So for your benefit, I will tell you that the tournament will last between 7 and 11 games. After the seven winners are determined from each of the continents, I will post what your next challenge will be and add another piece to the story.

If you hate how the format of this tournament sounds and think that nothing good can come out of it, then don’t join.
But if you’re curious about what will happen next and are willing to try something new, by all means join up.
