Bronchitis is Fun!

Post by Minister Masket »

After extensive diagnostics and a week of pretty much endless illness, I have diagnosed myself with Acute bronchitis. There's no doubt, as I've experienced most of the symptoms over the last 5 days.

Apparently it can lead to pneumonia, so I'm taking this seriously.

I caught it myself two weeks ago, and was having trouble with it for a week and a half... the cough is a real bitch- be sure not to venture out if you don't have to- if it leads to pneumonia, the antibioticum you're taking (I assume you are) won't help you anymore... about 10,000 people die every year of pneumonia.

Not trying to worry you, of course.

Appears to be settling down, but the cough is tough to live with.

Carried my grandad off, that did.
Mind you, he insisted on walking to the pub when his lift didn't turn up in freezing cold weather. That's what made it pneumonia, and as he'd been a smoker for around 60 years at that point, his lungs just cried "enough!".

I have never smoked, although been around the presence of smokers for quite a while.

That can do it, my aunt doesn't smoke, but her son does. She gets bronchitis alot, but it hasn't happened as much since they bought that Oreck Air Purifier with the submarine technology. http://www.oreck.com/air-purifiers/xl_a ... choice.cfm
