How do you set up a pole?

When you create a new topic, at the bottom there is a button for pole. click it and fill in details.

Depends on what kind of pole you want - For most you probably want to dig an anchor or foundation to - 18 inches for five feet is plenty.

If this is the beginning of a joke, then I would say "I don't know. How do you set up a pole ?"
but I suspect the joke may be offensive and not only to Poles.
