I know something similar has been done before, with a ladder tournament where the highest ranked person would need to win the least number of game to win the tournament, but in that case the organizer didn't play, and wouldn't have been the beneficiary.

If I read it correctly, if the highest ranked person loses quickly, then they still have the same number of points as the person they lost to !?!

correct, but goes with top 8 scores, so if 2nd thru 9th highest scores all win or whatever, then they both knocked out

I'm curious how it works that the 8th and 9th highest scores can both win? Aren't they playing each other?

I'm not going to allow this tournament to continue in its current format.

The lowest players in this tournament are already at a disadvantage because they have to play the best players (according to points) in the tournament. But to add insult to injury, you put together a point system that further cripples the lowest players because even if they win their game, they probably won't advance because of the point totals. And the first couple places are virtually guaranteed to advance just because they start with more points.

Get rid of the arbitrary point system to do a simple bracket tournament and this tournament may continue.

what is so wrong with it? many have read it and joined, where is their a rule that states this? I can win 5 games and lose 1 and win at 80% and still lose tons of points, is there fairness in that? Why not allow it? or meet me in the middle, geez.

it does slightly favor the higher scores yes, rigged, no? again, i am inviting all and can win 4 games and lose only 1 and i would get killed in points, there is hundreds of tourneys, this is only one tourney that i am trying, if many do not like the format after this, i wound do it again, or at least i wont set it up like this. I can lower the point sand cut them in half from the start, that should help a lot and now any and all can advance, you win round 1 , you advance.

or I can just take the points form the start away completely and just have 1 point for and half a point for win 10 rounds and under, better?
