Other than that. Congratz Florida. Yes they did get a lot of help from Georgia just not playing but they should get credit where credit is due. They played a terrific game.

This week they're up against Pittsburgh. It looks to be one of the better match ups of the week.

UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE FINISH... Texas rallies back to take their first and only lead with 1:29 on the clock
and Texas Tech marches sixty yards to win it. The goal posts lower automatically to protect them from the fan frenzy.

If Colt McCoy had stayed in bounds when he ran for that first down in the Tech red zone...
might have been the difference.

Of course... the tipped pass that "should have" been intercepted would have ended it too.

Turn the BCS on it's head one more time... the rankings on Monday will be interesting. IF... TexTech or Penn State or Alabama win out... any one of them could play for the National Championship. Alabama and Texas Tech have the toughest path... as Penn State should finish unblemished now. Then again, with all the quality opponents remaining... the ratings can really change a lot before the final BCS standings.

Were you rooting for Texas? I think either Texas Tech or Alabama will be #1 in the new polls, probably Texas Tech, while Penn will hold onto the #3 spot and either Oklahoma or Florida will be #4.

I was rooting for a Great Game... and got one. After Texas drove the legnth of the field in 14 or 15 plays to score a touchdown and take their first lead, I felt they might done it. Since the Longhorn defense had really held the Red Raiders down in the second half... it was the Tech defense that got the 3rd quarter TD. Then again 1:29 is a lot of time for a team like Tech... and they definitely needed all of it.

The Florida/Georgia game was kind of sucky for fans of the game, well except for UF fans of the game. heh

Lot's of good games yet to be played... that will effect the BCS soon enough. Who knows, still a few unbeatens left... just how high can BYU & Utah go in the rankings? and TCU's only loss was to #1 Oklahoma. So now is it Alabama #1, Penn State #2 and Texas Tech #3... or does USC Climb? Both Alabama and USC merely stages scimages this weekend.

I'm also curious what the Big 12 South's tie breaker is if Oklahoma beats Texas Tech? That will be an odd one to solve if they all finish with a single conference loss. Paper, Rock, Scissors?

You don't think that Texas Tech might jump Penn? I kind of want to see Alabama and Texas Tech remain undefeated. It would be nice to see an SEC team vs. a big 12 team in the championship for once.

btw... IF Texas Tech wins out in the Big 12, victories over Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and the Conference Championship Game (Missouri/Kansas) they just might jump Penn State in the BCS and earn a spot...

VS.

Florida/Alabama... if one of these two teams can win out.

I think strength of schedule could effect both Penn State and USC by the time the final BCS Standings come out, which would really suck for Joe Paterno... Pete Carroll too.

BUT... then again, being #1 seems to be a jinx again this year. Anything can stll happen and probably will.

I do believe Penn State is a very good team that can compete with anyone out there and that the Texas Longhorns still have a great chance of winning the Big 12 South.

The problem is that even if Texas Tech goes undefeated and Alabama loses. It would most likely be Penn State that they would play. SEC may be a tougher conference but I don't still don't see a one loss SEC team going into the title over an undefeated Big Ten team.

Well... it's not Penn State's fault that the Big Ten isn't all it could be this year... but...

I do think it's possible for a one loss team from the SEC and Big 12 to meet in the Championship Game
just for strength of schedule and the curious way the BCS Rankings are tallied.

Of course... first things first... a lot of wins against tough competition still have to happen.

I think Alabama can go undefeated. After all, Auburn is the weakest I can ever remember them being. LSU's tough but I can't see them beating Alabama unless they were to slip up. And as good as Florida's offense is, Alabama's defense should be able to keep it in check and they're O-line has Florida out-sized. Now the chances of them actually going undefeated, probably less than 50% but I think that Alabama is probably the best team in the SEC.

As for Florida, they can do it too. Their remaining schedule is pretty tough too but I think they should at least get to the SEC championship without another loss anyways.

I'll just ignore your sexual preference and propensity for undies whiffing snifner.

Meanwhile... Texas Tech jumped Penn State in the AP Poll... and Alabama holds the top spot.

Yeah, I kinda guessed that would happen so it's not surprising. I just hope Georgia can win the rest of their games and get into a good bowl.

While it seems college football is bigger than NFL for a lot of CCers, I just can't help but mention the Bears. Holy shit, we almost lost to the Lions. I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss, but damn. Either way, they are now on top of the NFC North. Go Bears!

Nah... NCAA doesn't trump the NFL. It's just that college ball is reaching critical mass
as the pros approach the midpoint of the season.

It's all opinion but I feel that with the exception of the Super Bowl everything in college football is better than pros.

Yes it was a good game. One of many that happened on that day. AGGH! Why couldn't the Georgia v. Florida game been that close!

The new BCS Rankings are out...

Utah survives 13-10 against New Mexico (4-5) and climbs two spots to #8,
while Oklahoma blows out Nebraska and drops two spots to #6.

#1 Alabama goes to Baton Rouge next weekend while #2 Texas Tech hosts Oklahoma State in Lubbock.

Penn State and Boise State might be the only unbeatens remaining by the time it's all over.

I am a happy Jets fan today.

If the Pats lose tonight, we're in a 3 way tie for first place!

I think I would like to see Alabama and Texas Tech somehow survive the season at this point. After all I don't want to see another Big Ten team get humiliated in the national championship.
