Front Page Image Suggestion

well, already pm'd the appropriate people and some others that i regularly contact. i'm just
kind of looking to see how other people feel. as i stated above, had the page been as it is now
when i first came to CC, i would have never joined. just worried about foot traffic coming by

It is in Suggs and Bugs. Not this thread, but the idea is in there. I agree, it should be changed, at least until the new classic comes out.

I think the front screen is fine as it is. It lays bare, the way in which this site is run. if I joined this site and saw that map, then i wouldn't be surprised by the customer care i received after joining.

It's like meeting a bird down the pub with nice hooters ,and getting her home, only for the chicken fillets to fall out of her bra when you get the back buckle freed. I'd rather of seen the flat chested tart and taken my chances then.

It wasn't too bad with the world classic map, especially the old sultry dark one; now it's a skeleton of a map, appropriate to the current care and concern given to this site and members. And I do thank Lack for the past 9 months, playing Classic for free ; I'd become a premie if some semblance of it came back...

I agree completely. Put up the Europe map or North America. World 2.1 in a shrunken version would be a mess. Or put up Circus Maximus with a "Prepare to be Farmed, Noob"! Caption.

who stays on a page for that long and can you imagine the fight over which maps should be dissolved on the page? we'd end up with someone else from the foundry taking his maps down and going home...-0

p.s.- i still think europe or canada with the quick animation of an attack like on the old image, would be cool...

p.p.s.-and i agree the landing page just needs a total revamp to reflect how kick ass the site and maps are.

Before registering, all you can see of any maps is what's on the front page. I think, to really advertise the site, there should be some sort of showcase of the variety of maps.

If we had to have a stationary, I'd say Europe, since it's closest to what the original Classic was like, but if we could have a moving picture, that would be great.

I like the rotating map idea. There are 100+ now, have a different one up every day. Show the players new and old what is out there and available. Also a little benefit for the map makers who put their time and energy into the maps creation to see their map on the Homepage...

agree that the vast quantity and quality of maps should be on dislplay on the front page, too...
flashing images would be far too distracting... maybe a selection of maps could run down a side of the page, or behind the logo... i don't know.. something that just shows off what the site has. anyway, thanks for the merge cicero, and i apologize to the original creator of the original thread, for my not poking around in the correct forum to see if anything was going on with the topic i was interested in. black jesus has spoken.-0

I thought it was but checked with a website designer friend of mine who said it should be easy peasy...so that excuse for non-action is out the window...

and hey, if CC needs some assistance, reach out to the players, I'm sure a couple would be happy to assist...

Or you have a caption saying "So many maps, so little space" at the bottom and then have maps flash really quickly, one every 0.1 seconds. Then everyone would be happy.

It would take 10 seconds to go through all the maps and as people only get a glimpse of each they have to join to see them all.
