Crazy Maps And Dice?

Dear Moderator, reading all these comments it is clear that the classic map has to be improved asap...I can see hardly anybody playing it anymore, too...I guess an announcement on what and when this is going to happen would help this discussion...Thanks!

Concise description:Can you please fix the classic board by putting in cities for each cell.

Specifics:For example, change N7 to New York, E2 to London, A11 to Tokyo

Never before has this site been plunged into such turmoil and the lack of information we are receiving is ridiculous.

The way in which this whole situation has been handled is very unprofessional and a lot of paying customers are rightly pissed off by the whole thing.

This is a business now, and the level of service we are experiencing is akin to owning an Icelandic bank account.

Please Lack, make an announcement. It's over 24 hours now since the 5h1t hit the fan and no one is any the wiser.

Looking in the Map foundry, I came across this unnerving little piece of info.

If, as speculatively expected, there is going to be a lack veto on another map of the world with classic gameplay, then it's going to be damned impossible to find something that everybody likes

You have a lot of people now adding their input to making a new map, but no where is there any hard information as to what is off limits regarding copyright. If we knew more, then we would be able to assist you all in reaching a quicker, more sensible new map to replace the current short term abomination.

I'm sure that if the lawyers are breathing down your neck, you won't be able to post certain information. But if they are breathing down your neck, then let us know what they are going after you for. You have a large group of people here that are all willing to help you out, and some of them may have some knowledge of law that could assist in the problem. Even those without a law degree could offer an idea, not already thought of, that might make the light above your head go 'ping!'

a very good question also why all this discussion is being sent into this old thread of hulmey's is an extremely questionable decision by the powers that be on this site, as someone who up until recently was a member of team cc myself I'm extremely dissapointed in the way this is being dealt with - "when the going gets tough, the tough gets going" is not a solution.

We need an announcement with updates and we need the various key discussion points dealt with, there are a high degree of quality posts on this thread, I'm amazed these are being ignored and in effect unanswered, just because there is also spam and crap also being posted does not mean those of us that care about this site and have made positive suggestions should be ignored.

Also for an admin (Twill) to ask us the ordinary members to keep quoting his post every couple of pages is insulting in the extreme - this is the most important development on this site since I joined over a year ago and is exactly what announcements should be for - fine let this be a discussion thread but the updates from twill etc. should be at the top and locked so e all can see it - this is far more important than any competition etc.

I posted in private my reasons for leaving team cc but this latest example of whats going on, on high confirms any doubt I may have had that I made the right choice.

My issue is not what has happened, my issue is the way it is being dealt with, this should be the first step towards a solution to this current impasse.

I'm a guy who never posts, mostly because he hardly has anything important to say (or I use all the good comments up at work). I again have a couple of things to say:

1) Yelling and screaming just makes you look like a moron.

2) Even if you don't yell and scream, your complaints that are misspelled make you look like a nine year old. Proofread your rants people!

3) I've worked in schools (yes, I'm a teacher) where we've been told NOT to use the word "dice" but "number cubes" to avoid copyright infringement. Do you think CC wants to see how far they can go before they are slapped with a lawsuit or do you think they should be overly safe than sorry?

4) I still support Lack and TwiIl on this, even though I don't know exactly what is being done. That's why its called support.

5) I agree that InsomniaRed is good looking, although I don't think that's a very relevant topic here. (Fun to mention though)

6) If you're worried that it's been a whole two days and there is no new map WRITE ONE YOURSELF. Never written one? Is it because it's a lot of work?? Work that takes more than two days?

The new maps look like Brown Pentagons or something very much like it...

I suggest removing the Centerscape and Classic map completely from the site, add something more playable to their places... give current players 30 days to complete the active games and disable starting new games with the those maps...

Well, I really don't see that happening until the revamps are in place. There are hundreds upon hundreds of games going on, on those particular maps, are there would be even more unhappy people if all those games (that do not get finished) were just deleted. The Foundry will get a new map up as soon as they can, we just have to be more patient. They also had no forewarning of this, we should be extremely grateful at their efforts!!
