I'm sure it was just quickly put together to appease. I wouldn't worry.

Sadly no joke.

We're all just going to have to live with this new setup I'm afraid. We did it to avoid any possible copyright violations. It's out of our hands.

Sorry to bring the bad news to everyone. But hey, new material for the map video contest...8 more hours to do something with the new maps :)

It is truly aweful.. as there was litigation going on i truly hope that someone has been working on something more than what is replacing Classic at present. It is not acceptable at all.

Crappy New Classic Map........

Post by kgill3 »

Can we please get the old Classic Map back? The new one is hard to see and I generally don't like its aesthetics.

Suck it up. At least you can still play. Also, if this was done quickly do you REALLY expect something beautiful to have been made? Give it time and I'm sure they'll replace it with something better.

Yep, I agree - that has to be quite possibly the ugliest, most confusing replacement design you could have picked.

Dissappointment with Map changes

Post by Meditron »

First time to the forums here, but I felt this was a good enough situation. I have to say that the changes to the classic map and the "centerscape" (read: middle earth) map are entirely ridiculous. I'm sure some much more minor changes could be made to the classic map since it's technically only a Napoleonic map of the world, last time I checked no one had copyrighted the Napoleonic map of the world.

The middle earth map wasn't even an exact representation of middle earth to begin with, nor did it closely resemble Hasbro's LOTR risk very closely either, so i could see maybe changing names on that map for copyright purposes but by no means reducing it to that.

Over all my greatest disappointment is with classic map. It already graphically was different that the Risk boards I've ever seen, I'm sure it could've been only minorly changed to avoid real problems.

This is simply ridiculous.
