Escalating cards + freestyle turns = trouble?
Is it just me or is this a bad combination.... Wouldnt it just be best to wait the full 24 hours or at least until everyone one else that can use cards goes first so you get the most units for your cards...

Yes, you do want to cash in later, not as soon as you can, although sometimes you can do a full board sweep before anyone comes online to start their turns and cash in themselves. Just strategy, it is a really good combo of settings.

I must say i think this is a very interesting combination although i have never played in a game with these setups.
Without any previous experience i would say that you should usually cash in as late as you can or if the possibility is there cash in early and either clean sweep the board or take out another player for a double cash.

thats a well known strategy
also if its speed people tend to wait untill 10 seconds before they cash in

Which means the whole of the turn revolves around 10 seconds.

Depends. If there are 8 players. And no one has a lot of armies, cashing in early could result to taking out somebody, providing a chain reaction. Usually works well in World 2.1. Check out the user: kumanovac

I love playing on these settings. You can pull off crazy mindgames and tricks on your opponents if you're good.

This is where strategy comes into play. Knowing when to cash and when to hold them. Not always good to cash, but not always good to hold them either.

I've won a swathe of points on these settings. The key is to hold out on your turn until your cash-in is suitably large that you can take out an opponent, and hopefully clean sweep opponent after opponent in one round. Personally, I think Freestyle Escalating is one of the best settings available.

Higher ranks in casual will often wait till the very end. I had one 8-player casual freestyle with every player a colonel and up. 6/8 people (including me) all cashed within 10 seconds of the round ending. So we were all there in the final minute. We all had 5 cards.
