Mine is the unicorn, because of their good magic and the way they fly around on rainbows and help princesses.
My second favourite make-believe animals are billy07's friends.
what's yours?

The Phoenix. There's something rather wonderful about being able to rise from the ashes ...to begin afresh. Second favourite is My Little Pony...the pink one with the sparkly hair.

First person to say "Jesus! lolz omfg im funny" gets a lollipop. I don't know if they are animals exactly, but the aliens from Aliens (so to speak) are brilliantly designed. Apart from that, Terry Pratchetts sock eating elephant type thing is my top pop pick.

The Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal - an animal so mindboggingly stupid it believes if you can't see it, it can't see you.

Guess I`ll have to go with the Oglaroonians (who all live in the same tree and believe their tree is the entire universe, while other trees are just illusions)

The Selkies of Celtic mythology - I'm a sucker for 'romantic tragedies'.
Selkies are able to transform to human form by shedding their seal skins and can revert to seal form by putting their selkie skin back on. Stories concerning selkies are generally romantic tragedies. Sometimes the human will not know that their lover is a selkie, and wakes to find them gone. Other times the human will hide the selkie's skin, thus preventing them from returning to seal form. A selkie can only make contact with one particular human for a short amount of time before they must return to the sea. They are not able to make contact with that human again for seven years, unless the human is to steal their selkie's skin and hide it or burn it.[
