The island that Copenhavn is on is called Zealand, the one south of it is Lolland, the thin one next to Sweden in Oland, and the red one in the middle of the Baltic Sea is Gotland. The Estonian island is Saaremaa.

Very cool map, first off. However, with the bonuses I have an idea: how about you lower the bonuses that are 4-6 and raise some other ones. The reason for this is that if you are stuck with having to gain a big continent, people might actually let you have it after you finish conquering it (which might take a while). People can sacrifice their army to take away your bonus of 6, while nobody tries to break the continent of 2. (ex: europe and australia or S.A.) Also, with some of the bigger bonuses, if you ever become powerful to attain them, you've won the game already, the bonuses actually don't really help and might as well not be there, it only provides overkill armies (unless of course, you are playing with noobs who don't know what bonuses are, in which case, you'll probably win anyhow). So, after saying that, here are my suggestions, take 'em if you wish.
Denmark - 1
South Norway - 3
North Norway - 3
South Sweden - 2
North Sweden - 3
Finland - 2 (maybe 3)
Baltics - 2
Iceland - 1
Maybe a lot of people will disagree, but at least most can sympathize with having to take europe, and nobody letting you have it. You can have 8 on each border , and people will break in, while the guy on australia is sitting there with 7 on his 1 border and nobody is bothering him, after all, he is only getting 2 per turn. In escalating, the continents don't matter too much in the first place, but flat rate and no cards, placement is essential. I made some of the continents with big bonuses worth less than most because by time one has conquered them and placed men on all borders, there will probably be very few left to spare and others will already have ammassed huge armies.

I think it is because he posted this image in the forums and you having to scroll all the way to the right to see it fully is causing this problem. If you paste the picture in like paint or something, you see its pretty even, i mean you have to put the key somewhere. The map goes up and down to the whole length, so the obvious place to put is on a side. Which ever side you place the key, the map will look a little displaced. Overall, I think it is fine the way it is.

Great work on the map! Looking forward to playing it!
Here is a good link if you want to use swedish names on the different areas. As was pointed out earlier the map doesn't have the exact borders but i think you can figure out a way to name the territories.
http://sverigestak.org/landskap/landskap.shtml
But i'd also like to say that the borders could be a bit more realistic without loosing game expirience. Especially in the north of sweden (norrland) you could use places as lappland, jämtland, norrbotten and västerbotten and it wouldn't change the playability.
A name that could be used for the southeastern part of the north of sweden is Höga kusten.
For the south of sweden i think that you could change dalarna and värmland to match the real borders. And the area around stockholm (Västmanland, Närke, Uppland and Södermanland in the map which is linked above) could be called Mälardalen.

Hmm its hard to find a name to this one, the Baltic states aint part of the region "Norden" or "Nordic Countries" in english either.
And there are two ways to see Scandinavia
Cultural:Sweden, Norway & Denmark
Geographical:Sweden, Norway and parts of nortwestern Finland.
So what i know there so name for this region together, only the Baltics states and the Nordic countries

For me Scandinavia is Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and the Faroe Islands. Perhaps even Greenland as technically it belongs to Denmark. I guess that's putting it on cultural lines.
However even from a geographical point of view Denmark is always part of Scandinavia. The only difference is that Finland is included.
I prefer Nordic Countries or Nordic States as the Baltic states (and that's three of them...another sub group!) are definitely not Scandinavian.

No geographical Scandinavia is only the scandinavian peninsula where only Sweden, Norway and a small part of Finland belongs. (The name comes from the mountainridge "The Scandies" or whatever its names is in english
But scandinavia is often used cultaraly as the name of the three countries Sweden, norway & Denmark as a region.
Why cant we just use the name "Northern Europe" or something?

In Insular Germanic (i. e. English), Continental Germanic (German, Dutch I think), and Romance it is Zealand/Seland/Zeeland. In North Germanic (Danish and friends) it is Sjælland.

Wikipedia tells me that, although Finland is geographically not entirely part of ScandInavia it is culturally and linguistically.
So Scandinavia seems like a perfectly acceptable title. People will click on a scandinavia map and expect to see all those countries. The carribean map includes some american states and south american countries which are certainly not part of the islands.
is a historical and geographical region centered on the Scandinavian Peninsula in Northern Europe. It is most commonly defined as the three kingdoms of Denmark, Norway and Sweden, with Finland and Iceland sometimes included as well.
In linguistics and cultural studies, the definition of Scandinavia is expanded to include the areas where Old Norse was spoken and where the North Germanic languages are now dominant. As a linguistic and cultural concept, Scandinavia thus also includes Iceland and the Faroe Islands.[1]

The countries included in Scandinavia are: Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland and Denmark. Farea islands and Greenland belongs to Denmark but have their own flag and ruling. Just like Aland in Finland.
I agree. Iv'e been living Sweden most of my life and here Finland has ALWAYS been included in Scandinavia. Finland was even part of Sweden up until a few hundered years ago.
I'm working on the U.S. Senate map and have to utilize American spelling (not brittish or international english). This is a Scandinavian map so local and regional praxis regarding names, spelling etc ought to be respected here too.

As a Danish speaker myself, I can tell you, first hand, that although Old Norse may have been spoken in Finland, modern Finnish is nothing like modern Danish, Swedish, Bokmal, or nynorsk (the two official languages of Norway) which are all mutually intelligible.
Go ahead and call the map Scandinavia, but Finland is not part of Scandinavia (and if you look at wikipedia-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finno-Lappic_languages , it actually says that Finnish is more like Estonian or Hungarian)

That might make it more playable, but it makes it more difficult to name. For example, Trøndelag is now split in two, and so is Nordland. If the border was were it is in reallity, the map might not look as good, but it would be obvious which is which...
if somethings are split in two, you can name it like North Nordland and South Nordland or something like that
Just had a look at the map
I hate to add on the argument, but why is Bornholm missing? It really ought to be there (plus you can make Denmark a 4 country continent, thus making the 2 army bonus make more sense)
as to naming
The southernmost part of Sweden should definitely be called Skåne
the danish peninsular- syd jylland (south) and nord jylland (north)
The danish Island to the right- Sjælland
The lower-left portion of Iceland- Reykjavik
