NCAA B-Ball Tourney [PLAYERS JOIN NOW - GAMES WAITING]

Post by Jus144tice »

************** EDIT 3 *******************
Someone just brought up a good idea - if you lose in your game, please feel free to join one of the games that haven't started yet. But only join if you've been eliminated in your original game.
************** EDIT 3 *******************

************** EDIT 2 *******************
Anyone who is not currently in the tournament is free to join the following games (anyone who joins more than 1 game will be automaticaly disqualified). I know this will throw off the ranking system, but at this point, we need to get these games moving:

Tournament Name: NCAA Tourney R1 - East Game 2, Game 135830
PASS: ncaar1e2

************** EDIT 2 *******************

************** EDIT 1 *******************
Ok, good news is 8 games have started, 6 are waiting on 1 player, 2 are waiting on 2 players.

Bad news is, many of the games who are waiting for players to join is because they are non-premium members and don't have any slots available.

Now, I have no problems waiting for them to get slots available (for a while at least). But I think that I am more patient than many players here because I work 12 hours a day so I only play 1 turn a day anyway (and I have premium membership so I play in 30 or so games at a time).

For those of you who are waiting on players and do NOT want to wait, either post here or PM me and I'll consider putting an alternate in (there are a few still interested) although that will kind of screw up the ranking system I had in place.

Another thing to think about is that these games are standard, sequential, no cards which means they're gonna take a while anyway, so I say we give the non-premium members a few days to get a free game slot and join the tourney, but I'm willing to hear arguments...
************** EDIT 1 *******************

Below are the round 1 games. I've PMed everyone involved the game and the password - if you did not get this message (very possible as it's easy to lose track of all the players) let me know (by PM) and I'll send you the password.

IF YOU WIN, please post the results to this thread so I don't have to track down all the games.

Let me know if something goes wrong (wrong player joins game, player doesn't join game... etc) and I'll do my best to take care of it.

Don't forget to check the bracket! (I promise if I have time I'll put more effort into making it better.)

Have fun!!

He went by the number of points you had when you emailed him that you wanted in. There was a list here with everyone's name and points listed.

I will keep that in mind for next time - I'm thinking I should bring this tournament back right around March Madness :)

what are the rules of your tourney?
Are we allowed to get alliances?
we can break them in any time?
Or maybe we should play without alliances, just making our own play?

Rules

Post by Jus144tice »

I didn't specify any tournament rules, and I'm not really looking to moderate the games. As far as I'm concerned - no rules in the games, win in whatever way you can.

That's another reason why teams probably would have been better, that way it is completely fair... Next time :)

Ok, this is getting frustrating - this is the first tourney I've hosted so I didn't even think that I should have alternates for when people don't have free slots available (also, I have premium membership so I forgot that non-premiums are limited).

I've had to work a lot of overtime recently, so it might be 2 or 3 days before I finally get a day off, but as soon as I do, if there are still games that haven't started, I am just going to fill them with people who are interested in the tourney and haven't joined a game yet. It looks like we still have 6 slots left to fill, so if anyone wants to fill them, let me know and I'll put you in whenever I get a day off.

Heh, the most frusterating part (and probably the only reason I care) is that my game hasn't started yet :-)

Anyone with other thoughts or ideas let me know.

It is not over yet, but i'm going to go ahead and declare

Game 135825

a win for me... Remus the 16 seed has put up quite the fight, however I don't think he is quite strong enough to make a come back being that it IS no cards.... if he does pull it off I will surely edit this post.
