Its people with opinions like that which rally show how homophobic our culture is, they assume because someone is gay they'll hit on anyone of the same sex, do YOU hit on anyone girl that you see? most guys dont' "try to pull anything" on everyone they meet.
If this were flipped, you were gay and had to be in a room full of girls, i doubt u'd be worried that they'd "try somethign on you" not to specifically pick on you, wolf, but a few others i've seen in thei thread. Homophobia is rampant here...

As long as you are not implying that I do think that they will all flirt with any guy they see. It just makes me a little uncomfortable, if one of them was to flirt with me.

but why even mention it? Its like saying i'd liek a dog so long as it doesn't bite me, a minority of dogs might, but the fact that you said it jsut demonstrates how you're afraid of dogs.
Peopel dont' view homosexuals with respect, and its rather sad because being gay is one of the ahrdest things to do in this culture, and they deserve respect for admitting it and opening themselves up to be criticized by hordes of people.

really...geeze...people are so touchy...what if a bi-sexual girl hits on you? is that just as bad?

i agree. but let me ask u this: would you be uncomfortable in a situation like that?
and for kitten, it's definitely an uncomfortable situation. none of these are "bad situations" just ones that would make you think "well this is uncomfortable"

Why mention it? Good question. It was really just a spur of the moment reply.
I have friends who are straight and I have friends who are gay. Neither 1 will say that I really treat them any differently. I do not have anything against them. It's just the nature of my being straight that makes me a little uncomfortable, a weird little glitch thrown into my instincts that just makes it seem a little uncomforting.

I's just tired of gays being treated by many as if they dont' deserve the same right as everyoen else because they make someone feel uncomfortable because of who they are. The fact that people still have this feeling shows that anti-homosexual tendencies are so embedded in our culture that people have a hard time shaking them.

also wins are pointless, since no one changes their views since we're all too stubborn.
i completely agree with you on that

personally, i hate the arguments, but that's just me
I like arguing but I always hate getting involved because it's like a never-ending always repeating vortex that keeps dipping you deeper and deeper only for you to realize that you have not only not changed anyone's opinions but also find that you are stuck there yourself. I really feel like most of the people in those threads have gotten themselves involved in the same things. I also think that is why I haven't heard from Only Ambrose recently.

yeah, iv' been distancing myself form them, thats cus people hold really strong convictions, also its rally hard to get data to back up your arguments, since no one accepts the sources as non-partisan. They also jsut argue the points they have good counters for, and ignore the really damning evidence.
