I understand there may be financial reasons why some players cannot buy premium. You don' t have to pay for the premium if you don't want to. 3. However, I noticed my rating dropped from 4.5 (I've been slowly building it up from 3.9 ) to 4.4 and wondered why...I played a 1vs1 with a freemium named 'iberico' who felt it fair to rate me 111 in a game that lasted 6 rounds and 3 days. I didn't miss a turn (though came a little close once) and though I lost I wasn't in anyway rude or offensive. My play was at worst average. A point reset as well as a short, sharp electric burst as he logs in again must surely be the only fair consequence. 4. (and as usual fairly randomn) Are most players only able to give ratings of 5's or 1's? I get 5's in games I have not won or come close to winning and in fact have effectively sucked; and I have got 1's from a player in a game I won quite brilliantly, if I do say so myself. So most players seem to give 5's if they rate at all. How sweet! Yet, I have given a 3 for gameplay when one of my opponents played ok but not too well. Later, I wondered if the said player was going to be incredibly offended by that 3. The rating, the rating!!! Anyway, it is a stupid system judged by the fact of, I would guess, 95% of the players have a got a rating over 4. Aren't we all so talented and nice? To wrench this post back to the topic at hand, I think any freemium caught rating in this way should, as well as losing points, have THEIR rating cut by one whole point.
To all freemiums out there, freaking switch to sequential. Even though you will not take your turn at the same time, the games last longer (if they are 1 v 1) because people delay to break bonuses (fact). In a sequential game, the opponent has no incentive to not play rt, unless they have to leave, in which case they can't play rt anyways.
I for one, just want to say that I don't appreciate the generality of this thread. I have never seen anyone anyone ask for a RT game, so it can't be all that common (I admit I am relatively new, but still...). Also, some freemiums (like me) don't get premium simply because they are a casual gamer. I rarely want more than four games at once, and I often only have two or three at once. Its not just because we are cheap.
I realize that a lot of this thread was meant as a joke, but I just wanted to put out my two cents.

All quite true and I quite agree that for a lot of people 4 games is enough. But some freemiums want to play as many games as quickly as possible and say "hurry up!". At which point we say "buy premium then you cheap bastard!". Balance is thus restored.
But if you only want to play 4 games then fair enough and no one would criticise you for that.

There should be an option when the game is set up requesting that the player who joins is prepared to play rt as far as is possible.
I still like the electrocution idea though, but would perhaps use it on those attempting to win by distracting players with lewd comments in game chat - yes jimi, that means you
the elecrocution idea is sublime. for a man it can be attached to the gonads and a woman on her nips.

i had previously included the 'private' electrocution idea in an alternative Suggestion (i used the form!): Crotch Prompt For Speed Games
I have not heard back yet but there is a large backlog of ideas.. i am hoping that, now the Mods don't have to adjudicate on feedback, we will soon have this positive addition at no extra charge!

This thread wasn't a joke. Just an opinion, a rant, my annoyance - whatever you want to call it! Why would you appreciate the thread? It's hypocritical for you to state that you don't like this thread. If you read my original post, it wasn't saying that I was poking at how cheap someone may be for not wanting to purchase a membership, or something along those lines. My point was simply to say that the majority of these 'freemiums' are likely to request for "RT" and have a persistent nagging attitude. That was simply it.

One of my girlfriends told me about this little device [mod edit] link removed [/mod edit] (no, I don't have one, and yes, the mind boggles!) - possibly it could be adapted for use along the lines you're talking about Jim, but on a reward rather than punishment basis. Something for Twill to ponder perhaps?

you talking to me, mr. 3 post? let's keep our owen's straight.. and throwing someone on the foe list after the fact doesn't resolve the problem of freemiums insisting on RT games that aren't set up as RT games, period. the solution is, go to callouts if you are freemium and want an RT game...-0
Further to my original post....this is a game that *I* had set-up, and the chat log.
Game 3271113
Game chat:
2008-09-15 20:56:10 - lealon: gl and hf 2008-09-15 20:59:37 - lealon: plz hurry and rt plz 2008-09-15 21:04:04 - lealon: ohhhh cmon you made to many games and youll never be able to get to mine 2008-09-15 21:12:51 - owenator: excuse me? Are you always this rude?
Like I said, this is most common with Freemiums. If we RT, don't you think you'll notice as to how fast the turns are taken? If *I* want to do rt, I'll simply state it first or just take my turns quickly.
