Do I understand that there is no advantage to actually winning your games in this tourney (other than rankings that is)? I won first two rounds, it doesn't seed me any better than anyone else who wasn't first eliminated does it?

i don't think so i think the main objective is to survive until the final where you need to win. At least that's my understandin anyway
