Champions League 2008-2009 [Winners: redbugal & gilgor]

[Forza AZ]

This tournament is based on the Champions League season 2008-2009.

There are 32 doubles teams representing the 32 clubs that will play in the group stage of the Champions League 2008-2009.

All games will be 4 player doubles and Sequential. The other home conditions (map, cards, fortifying, fog/no fog) can be chosen by the team.

Premium is not required, but Non-Premium players have to keep (at least) 2 slots open for this tournament.

-In each matchday the teams will play 2 games on the settings of the home team. Each won game will give the team 1 point. If 1 team wins both games in the same matchday they will get 1 extra point (so 3 points in total).

Round 1
-The 32 teams will be seeded into 4 seeding pots based on their Conquer Club score at the time of the draw.
-From each of the 4 pots a team will be drawn into each of the 8 groups. In each group all teams will play each other home and away (so 6 matchdays)
-Clubs from the same country will not be drawn into the same group
-The top 2 of each group will go on to the knock-out stage. When 2 or more teams have the same number of points when all group games have finished first the head-to-head results will count. If that gives no conclusion there will be a play-off game (or series of games) on Europe, No Cards, Chained, No Fog. If in case of a series of play-off games teams win the same amount of games in this series, the head-to-head results in the play-offs will count first, followed by the rounddifference (number of rounds of won games – number of rounds of lost games) in the play-offs.

Round 2
-The groupwinners of round 1 will play a runner-up of another round 1 group.
-Clubs from the same country will not play each other
-The groupwinners will play the 2nd leg at home
-When both teams win 2 games, the 2nd leg will go to extra time with a 3rd game on the same settings.

Quarterfinals & Semi finals
-Teams will be randomly drawn against another team
-In each match the team that won the most games in the previous rounds (play-off and extra time games excluded) will play the 2nd leg at home. If both teams won the same number of games in previous rounds the draw will decide who plays the 2nd leg at home
-When both teams win 2 games, the 2nd leg will go to extra time with a 3rd game on the same settings.

Final
-1 leg on neutral ground (Italy, No Cards, Chained, No Fog). Since the real Champions League final will be played in Rome this season I chose the Italy map for the final.
-When both teams win 1 game, the final will go to extra time with a 3rd game on the same settings.

Rules about drop-outs
-Each team can make 1 substitution in their team during the tournament without losing points. For each next substitution the team will be deducted 1 point in the round the substitution takes place.
-When a player hasn’t joined a game 3 days after I send the PM he will get a reminder PM. If the player still hasn’t joined the game 3 days after the reminder he will have to be replaced (except when the player is not Premium and still has 2 or more games going on in this tournament).
-The partner of a drop-out will be asked to provide a new partner. When no new partner has been provided after 24 hours I will put a player from the reserves list in that team.
