Except there is a huge difference between the two women. One is a liberal feminazi and the other a pro-life conservative.
McCain = More of the same
THE DEBATE IS OVER...

So yeah, the McCain ticket absolutely sounds like more of the same. Calls to mind the DOJ firings recently.
And if anyone is going to vote for the McCain/Palin ticket because she's pro-life, please tell me how the pro-life conservatives of the current administration have stopped abortion.

weirder thing imo is that apparently according to camp mccain, he has only met her once. Im sure she cant be selected if she has some serious dirt like that scandel so im sure that fades away. But how exactly do you meet the potential president of the country once should you be unable to continue in your duties. It doesnt seem to be a sound choice in that respect at least, which seems to be a bit more of a stinging criticism.

I'm looking for it at the moment, but apparently Palin asked a major reporter something to the effect of "So what is the day to day job of the VP anyway?"
Um, yeah. McCain... the experience ticket...
Someone, please, post it if you find it.

To be fair, the next President will likely appoint a justice or two or three, and thus might actually be able to do something about abortion if he/she were McCain or Palin.
f*ck it. I'd vote for Obama just because he's black. That whole shit about him being black and swaying votes really tells me America still hasn't accepted black properly (unless they're Oprah and hand out gifts to wealthy white people). Seriously, the care about black, woman, muslim or whatever shows how much your country still cares about those issues. Even when you say you don't care, it's still an issue.
f*ck you guys and your shitty ways.

Where is the choice for, I'm voting for Obama, and I am against McCain even more.
An email I got from defenders of the wildlife wrote:Shocking Choice by John McCain
WASHINGTON-- Senator John McCain just announced his choice for running mate: Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska. To follow is a statement by Rodger Schlickeisen, president of Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund.
“Senator McCain’s choice for a running mate is beyond belief. By choosing Sarah Palin, McCain has clearly made a decision to continue the Bush legacy of destructive environmental policies.
“Sarah Palin, whose husband works for BP (formerly British Petroleum), has repeatedly put special interests first when it comes to the environment. In her scant two years as governor, she has lobbied aggressively to open up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to drilling, pushed for more drilling off of Alaska’s coasts, and put special interests above science. Ms. Palin has made it clear through her actions that she is unwilling to do even as much as the Bush administration to address the impacts of global warming. Her most recent effort has been to sue the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to remove the polar bear from the endangered species list, putting Big Oil before sound science. As unbelievable as this may sound, this actually puts her to the right of the Bush administration.
“This is Senator McCain’s first significant choice in building his executive team and it’s a bad one. It has to raise serious doubts in the minds of voters about John McCain’s commitment to conservation, to addressing the impacts of global warming and to ensuring our country ends its dependency on oil.”
Just plain no. I wouldn't mind a women in office, but this... NO! Worse than Hilary. >_>
Vote: Mandy Eddie35: hi everyone Serbia: YOU IDIOT! What is THAT supposed to be? Are you even TRYING to play this game?! Kill the idiot NOW please!

what I love about this VP pick is that McCain is affirming his stance that the republican ticket offers substance and experience, while the democratic ticket is all about celebrity status.

indeed, the only problem is, we didnt know enough about her at the time to know we didnt know about her.
She does appear to be pretty consistently classically conservative from what ive seen thus far. Admittedly im sure it wont take long to know "everything" there is to know.

I didn't know who the heck she was until I got home for lunch break and watched the news. I almost choked on my ham sandwich when I heard that McCain picked an unknown...What is McCain thinking? There are very little Hillary supporters going to be swayed by this choice. In fact, many women will be offended by it, as it was blatantly made for the simple fact that Gov. Palin is a female!
I was really waiting for a good choice for VP from McCain to sway me towards his camp. Now I have drifted far, far away. I will be seeing Ron Paul in Minneapolis if any of you Republicans want a REAL candidate for the presidency.
Where is the I am Voting for Ron Paul option!
Oh, by the way...what ever happened to the word QUALIFIED? It seems to have left the building...
Vote for Elvis, anyone?

I live in Alaska and I was pretty shocked when I heard the news. McCain could croak any day now and this is kinda scary. She knows about Alaska, she has a pretty good sense of ethics, she's reasonably bright, and she can stand up to the oil companies, so I'll admit she's an reasonably good governor, even though I didn't support her in 06. But as for what it takes to be president, she's got nothing. Or even VP. She has no expirience there. You'll call me a hypocrit and say Obama is the same, but he's been relevantly involved in international relations issues, and basically what it takes to be a president for years.

She looks good on TV, but I actually saw her once at the Governor's Picnic, and she looks old and stressed out.
while its possibly hard to say for sure what a veep selection does, it seems that the pick has thus far been recieved fairly well by the small (somewhat quiet) group of mccain supporters on our board at least. Can imagine with the right amount of push she will be a positive selection.

I am glad that you are not an american then. voting for someone just because they are black is just as bad, IMHO, as voting for someone just because they are not black.

But Snorri is allowed to vote for a black person because of their race because Snorri's white.

Kinda like what happened in Australia.. Labor party [more left, not American left, but yeah] had the first vice Prime Minister in the history of Australia, and then Liberals [American lefts, Australian right] decided to have a vice leader for their party. Pretty bullshit.
Just like this.

...and Obama's picking of an old, established white guy is.........?
An old, established, white guy is about what you can expect if you pick a random politician in the USA, seriously, how many politicians fitting that description are there?
I want to be an old, established, white politician one day.
You might make it, only assuming that you're white right now, or that you can reach a deal with Michael Jackson's doctors.
