Update:
Changed bonuses
Played with colours
Brought back mersyside
Todo:
Legend and title
poss remove scot and wales (poll result pending)
add impassables
I realised that if London starts neutral then we dont need to take a terr away

An England map is a good idea - I don't know why I didn't think of it
I've been tinkering with the idea since posting my Wales Map, but haven't worked out a good break-up of regions/borders etc.
Some decisions you will need to make:
1. Administrative regions or Ceremonial Counties
The other advice I would give, is to read through the entire British Isles revamp thread - you will find lots of examples of the sort of things people will raise up as issues, particularly England-related ones.
Some decisions you will need to make:
1. Administrative regions or Ceremonial Counties
- If you go for the administrative regions, then you will need to decide what you're going to do about all the Unitary authorites, and other purely administrative areas.( including City of London/Greater London/Middlesex)
- There are officially recognised areas already in existence. You need to decide which of those you're going to use, and whether or not they fit in with the territory structure you decided upon
- A lot of the counties have a lot of borders; you'll have to work out how you're going to seperate them a bit.
- The thing that will underpin a lot of other decisiions will be the theme that you choose. Are you going for an atlas look? If so, you're going to need really clean borders. Are you going to use a period-style map? If so, then you need to make sure you're using borders that were broadly existence at that time (ie West Midlands...)
The other advice I would give, is to read through the entire British Isles revamp thread - you will find lots of examples of the sort of things people will raise up as issues, particularly England-related ones.

Re: Map Of England V1.2 PG 1+4 (poll to keep scotland and wales)
okay, and maybe split the north up, make it north and yorkshire. This is my idea for the east: norfolk sufolk and essex as one cont, with northants, bedfordshire, leics, hurts and nottinghamshire as another.

quick paint job but thats what im thinking of
oh and make the different colours on middle and south east more noticeable
otherwise im pretty pleased, anyway thats just what i think.

sh*t forgot to merge a cont. oh well it dont matter i was only gonna merge west and central
Re: Map Of England V1.2 PG 1+4 (poll to keep scotland and wales)
I have to be honest and say, given that the War of the Roses map is being developed, is further down the line than this and covers the same territory but in a more interesting way, this is a no-goer for me. A London map (a tourist map perhaps) would be a far better bet IMO.

i would rather fight a rhino, with just a pen knife, in an arena of dog sh*t, standing on my head than have a "tourist" map of london

Hmm we all have different opinions on the continents, why don't we just use them as they are on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_regions

This is exaclty what I suggested it would actually save work so that the creator could get on with the aethetics.

yer lets just go for that, but it does mean north east is gonna consist of two.
Re: Map Of England V1.2 PG 1+4 (poll to keep scotland and wales)

East Midlands
London
North East
North West
South East (Home counties)
South West (Westcountry)
West Midlands
Yorkshire and the Humber
East of England (East Anglia)
East Midlands
London

Re: Map Of England V1.2 PG 1+4 (poll to keep scotland and wales)
If it's a map of England, then it should be a map of only England...

It wouldn't be a map of anything but England. Wales and Scotland would just be shapes and would just show that England is not an extremely stupidly shaped island.

Re: ABANDONED
Is this still going ahead? Despite my initial reservations the idea has grown on me, it'd be a shame to let it fall by the wayside now.

i was hoping this would be a great map

I don't see why this has been sent to the heap, someone else could easily do it.
