Re: [26-Jul-2008] Ratings Reloaded
Well...how about this... You make a small form for users that want to leave ratings. In that form they would answer simple questions like a, b or c (maybe d or sometimes just a&b). Those questions would be something like: <player being rated> is a) good-teammate b) bad-teammate c) something i don't know. When a player makes a choice, next screen appears with new question and so on. The point is to cover all the aspects of gameplay through this small form which would have between 10 nad 15 questions..maybe less. If player quits form at any time those marks aren't left.. so anyone who wants to rate other people should spend some time... This way, bad tempered players won't rate at all, and as i sad before, every aspect of gameplay would be covered... This is just an idea... Cheers!

I am new to the club.
I find it awesome, and much fun.
I was surprised to receive one faulty rating from a lunatic.
Isn't it a shame to see such powerful results from one aberration?

Re: [26-Jul-2008] Ratings Reloaded
ratings are not your 'worth', they are other players judgements of you
because they belong to other players, you don't get to determine their validity
this seems to be the major fault of most players, they want to take all the great ratings and discard any poor ones they receive.
with a large enough sample of ratings, the whole balances out. you may think some have unfairly judged you lower than need be, and likely some have judge you higher than they should have.
finally, it is just a rating.... it doesn't disqualify or prevent you from any of the sites features. other players can also determine what your ratings mean; most have enough common sense to see past unfair remarks left.
as a side note, i thought it would be sorta interesting to see players leave an overall rating for themselves in their profile. would be somewhat telling me thinks....
