Newcastle United - gambler21210 and ienjoyit have been booted from the Tournament for failing to join their games on time (even after numerous pms).
They have been replaced by Lt.Pie and DBandit70.

Re: FA DOUBLES English Premiership 2008-09
Still looking for a replacement team?
Re: FA DOUBLES English Premiership 2008-09
I like the draw idea. Say a team has a draw if they don't win within 15 rounds on their home map?
Reputation cleared.
Never let it be said that Team CC don't investigate fairly.
Although they take bloody forever to do it...

Re: FA DOUBLES English Premiership 2008-09
a draw after so many rounds may be difficult, you could go 15 rounds in two days, why should that then be a draw?
what happens if one team has killed off one opponent and has one army left of the other? A draw then is a bit unfair.
How about putting a deadline on finishing the games?
i.e. the game is a draw if it has not finished by the sunday before a new match is setup?

If the opposing team takes a full 24 hrs for each of their turns, then after a week we would still be on round 4 at best - not a good idea.
If draws are included, then I would like to see a fairly high number used - 12 is OK, 15 is good, OR a number dependent on the size of the map used - maybe a round per 4 territories, or similar - just a thought.

Re: FA DOUBLES English Premiership 2008-09
fair point, 15 is probably a good number then

I'm running my own soccer based tournament with draws in it. I've worked out the stats for a bunch of maps, quite happy to share with the organiser if you're doing the draw thing. 15 is massive too - you'll have virtually no draws. From what I can remember (I don't have my spreadsheet with me), for Classic, 35% of games finish before round 9, 20% before round 10.

Thanks for your kind input on the matter
Funnily enough not one team has chosen the Classic Map to play on!
