Has anyone else noticed (olympics)
That China can only win the events with judges?!?!? They suck at swimming, volleyball, rowing, basketball, etc etc.
The always win with the judges though. Diving, gynastics. Who else has seen the bitter rigggieness of the gynastics. Its so obvious. the Chinese girls are so not good enough and that one girl that looks like she's 10 (no older than 12)
The olympics should never be in China ever again!!! who agrees?

Re: Has anyone else noticed (olympics)
There was one event where the Chinese girl was supposedly terrible (Didn't watch it, just listened) but still beat the 4th place girl by hundredths of a point when she should have been deducted more than she was. But still, I don't think they should be baned from hosting the Olympics. It'll be quite a while before they host them again anyway.
Epic Win

Judges can't really affect swimming and rowing.

Re: Has anyone else noticed (olympics)
The Chinese judge gave three medals to America in Women's Saber...
Also, there is an Olympic Panel comprised of several of the larger countries that, if this were in the slightest true, would crack down and kick some ass.
So, in the end, you are wrong...

Although I don't think that they are outright cheating, they are displaying a lot of unseemly behavior. With the lip syncing little girl and the computer enhanced opening ceremony fireworks what they are doing is deplorable. The worst abuse of power so far seems to be the "alleged" "women's" gymnastics, I find it laughable that the only proof they have of those children's age is a government issued passport. Again, I don't think they have done any outright cheating, but I wouldn't be surprised if they tried.

Re: Has anyone else noticed (olympics)
In gymnastics and diving the judges have been VERY biased towards China favouring them in every dubious decision and helping them win medals which they did not deserve.
They have good teams in both disciplines...but not this good. All this favouritism frankly sucks and is not in line with the supposed spirit of the Olympics games.

Everyone would say this when their team isn't winning.
I heard this same tirade from people when the games were in Athens, Sydney, and, most importantly, Atlanta...

This is pathetic. I'm ashamed to live in a country that can't handle getting 2nd at the Olympics, so they accuse China of cheating.

Didn't watch fencing, but I did see the gymnastics event where the girl was given way more points then what she deserved. Did you watch the Gymnastics event that is in question?
"Eh, whatever."

We still have more medals, so it's not that we "can't handle" losing.
Tell me this. If the Olympics were being held in ANY other country right now, do you think the IOC would be investigating the Chinese gymnast's ages? It's obvious they don't want to embarrass the home country.

Re: Has anyone else noticed (olympics)
There always is and always has been some degree of bias, some years it is greater than others. Though, I do wish that the gymnastics had been judged more evenly.

Re: Has anyone else noticed (olympics)
those are just their good events, and they happen to have judges, I don't really see any foul play here, no one has been straight up robbed by scoring, yeah the gymnastics judging was sporadic, but it was all over
Re: Has anyone else noticed (olympics)
Face it, NBC is making this a recurring editorial theme by asking Bela Corali every time he comes on whether he thinks the judging was fair or if they favored the Chinese. None of us are experts at gymnastics or sabre (in fact, I think a saber judge has about as much "decision power" as a swimming judged, i.e., to overrule the computer if something went wrong)....
U.S. is going to miss out on lots of medals it used to get due to the decline of U.S. track & field, attributable, in part at least, to the fact that in the old days, when runners like the Jamaicans came to the U.S. to train at a collegiate level, they would immigrate. Now, they just go home to run for a team like Jamaica where they will be national superheros for winning (a wise decision), instead of just another name on a list in a traditionally strong U.S. event. And for their training in the U.S. where track and field is not a big money sport, they get the same level of resources as the Americans.
Another example of how borders and nationality don't mean what they used to, and how the prestige of competing for "America" is something that is not quite as high an ambition as it used to be among the top athletes, and how the U.S. is not longer a place where talent wants to train and stay.

I've heard, and taken part in, several arguments about whether China should or should not host the Olympics.....but "they shouldn't host because they win" ??????

Re: Has anyone else noticed (olympics)
it's not getting 2nd, if you actually watched most of the gynastics, it is rigged. The chinese girls get so high for doing not as good. The judges are from countries that have no gymnastic team at all, so how would they know what is good or not? the chinese government probably just bribed them. just now the womens uneven bars the american and chinese girl got the same score, but since you chinese girl performed first, the so called called chinese "computer system" automatically ranked her first. Not even go head to head or anything!!! if you guys actually watched the olympics you would notice things
I was saying china CANNOT win events where there are no judges! they suck! have you also noticed that they have all those gold medals and no silver or bronze?
seriously guys, pay attention and you might notice things...

Re: Has anyone else noticed (olympics)
There is a rule - if two competitors have the same score, the one with harder practice is better placed. If American (actually Russian) girl was better than Chinese, she could choose harder practice and she would win.
I really couldn't believe what I've read in this thread. EVERYBODY (out of this thread) says that organization of this Olympic Games is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT in every imaginable way. The best ever! And more than 50% posters voted for banning China from organization... LMFAO
But you all forgot a thing of much greater emergency. Jamaican athletes have to be banned immediately (otherwise, they'll continue to wipe off everybody). They're just unacceptable fast! You better hurry!!
