The Underdark Map

Post by richporter »

I've been throwing around ideas for maps in my head ever since I started playing Conquer Club. I'm a huge fan of the science fiction/fantasy genre and saw this suggestion in the map idea topic. This is based on a continental map of the Dungeons & Dragons world Faerun and further based on a map of the Underdark, the world below the surface of the earth.

This is a very rough draft and my first map, take it easy on me. :) The rough draft isn't even complete, I just wanted to get opinions and hopefully some ideas as well before I went further ahead.

Ideas? How about to check if there are any copyright problems?
Anyway, looks like you want a gigantic map with tons of countries, maybe some less, and a smaller image would be better...

I am already checking on copyright notices and contacting the appropriate people. Thanks for the suggestion though.

This is just a rough draft as I said earlier. The image will be made smaller if this map takes off.

As far as I am concerned all new map ideas are welcome.

It ihnk marvaddin's right. A lot of the new maps are tending towards the large side. Try making your coutnries larger

Just because it takes longer to win and may upset the leader's dominance is that why?

Well I'm having a bit of trouble getting in touch with Wizards of the Coast to get some sort of copyright release from the appropriate department.

I may have to just take some artistic license with this and change names. I'm glad to see that there's some positive feedback on this. I will continue on with it and keep everyone updated.

Because I am unable to get in touch with the appropriate individuals/offices for copyright issues, I have taken artistic license with this and changed the names of the territories. With the exception of Arachnia, all names are temporary and subject to change.

I textured the map alot more, added a cool pic of a drow Matron Mother from the NWN Fan Site Kit, made it smaller in both total size and territories.

I like the map, and the idea, but it could use some color for the different regions, some of us have "mature" eyes, and seeing colors helps more than names sometimes. :)

aww, you oldies ruin all the fun!!

We have too many bright happy maps on CC, even USApocalypse has bright colors!

we need a dark gloomy map, maybe increase the contrast and brightness a smidgen so it doesn't look like you're looking at the map through a tinted window, but keep the gloomy feel of the map. Maybe white border lines woudl be a cool touch, especially aroudn teh acacias, its hard to tell where the borders are.

Also, you cna post the entire image by using the image bb code, and the direct link to the image is that last link on the list for imageshack
