? speed game timers

Post by The Chosen One »

clock either does not count down during turns and/or is not accurate:
Noticed in some of my more recent speed games, the timer was not counting down on screen. Used reset without success a few times, so being a bit anal and loving speed games, got my own timer that beeps me at 90 secs. Today for the third time in a week, I "ran out of time" before I hit the 90 sec mark on my timer.

When I went back in to check the game logs to try to figure out where I was messing up, only one "ran out time" showed up. Can an opponent by hitting the reset button frequently cause something like this to happen or is there a glitch?

Unless you have BOB, the clock should not count down. Not sure what is causing the time discrepancy.

Are you starting the timer when you start your turn, or when the player before you finishes?

Yes I have BOB and yes I start the timer as soon as I end my turn. I actually to have the timer set for 4 mins and 45 secs to cover any discrepant few secs in starting it. Good suggestions though.

So, you're timing your opponent's turn?

I believe this is a BOB bug. I will bring this thread to yeti_c's attention and, if he agrees, it will then be moved/merged with the BOB Bugs thread in Plugins & Addons.
