New Map: RUBIX CUBE

Post by WidowMakers »

VOTE!
Here is a new version with less borders and different bonus values

Boarders
Purple (2)
Blue (3)
Orange (4)
Red (5)
Green (6)
Yellow (8)

It is still based on a cube but the name is different and there now is a difference between territories.

here are both the Large and Small images. If this seems to be of interest I will write the XML and we will be off. Any questions or advise?

i dont think its great, and its really similar to the periodic table map im working on.
the continents need much higher bonuses because they have 8 border countries.

if you are going by the actual colors of the rubix cube,
the yellow should be blue,
the blue should be green,
the purple should be yellow,
orange should be white,
and green should be orange.

I can do a rubix cube in under one minute. beat that

i dont like this map at all

wow, this is avery good first draft, graphics are great, but i see a problem with playability...all the continents are equal, and they are very hard to defend, 8 borders each. As i see graphics isnt going to be a problem...playability is hard to get right on a squaresh map

besides the copyright infrignments, the idea seems a little too simplistic to me. not that you didnt do a great job of developing the map, but the format/layout just doesnt have anything unique about it.

You should add some uncrossable borders to make it better to play. Graphics is very good though.

Did you read Andy's post?

Without being able to call it a rubik's cube or show a 3D cube, this map has nothing going for it in my opinion. It would just be a bunch of squares in the layout you mentioned for now apparent reason.

As everyone else said, you appear to have some good graphical skills, so I would suggest you spend your time on a map people would be more interested in. I'm not trying to sound mean here, I just don't see how it would be interesting.

I posted the new map and forgot to read the posts before. Oh well. I would love to do other maps but the entire world map idea I had has already been taken. If anyone needs help with making maps, where do I go to let them know. If I can help anyone make a better looking map then GREAT.

If you are looking for an idea...Peruse the 'Map Ideas' thread. You may have to sift through some crap, but there are quite a few good ideas in there.
