So I have a bone to pick with the ratings system. It seems like it's very possible to wait for the last minute, then give someone a bad rating just as the game falls off the rating window, so there is no opportunity for the person who got the bad rating to reciprocate.
I had a 5.0 rating when I logged out yesterday. This morning two bone heads who obviously roll together both left me a couple of 1's for a feudal FOW game that I played a week ago. I don't like to leave low ratings for anybody. This cook rushed me in feudal, broke us both down so that green could sweep in. With both of us down to 1 castle, we mass troops, and when I broke through neutrals in his second kingdom and realized the castle was his and not green's, I backed off, and, so as not to give away to much, tell him not to be a tool in the chat. (incidentally, he had put all his armies in attach position and left a clean path of 1's to his castle had I been inclined to screw him). He suicided on me anyway, twice actually, giving away the game and crying the whole time that I had a bad attitude for calling him a tool. Whatever... I just added him to the ignore. And it mean so much to him and his friend green that they waited one week and then both of them left me a 1. I call that bushwacking. I call that complete cowardice. And I call it abuse of the system.
Here's the game Game 2840935. You can check it out if you want a laugh... and a couple of names to add to your foe list.

Ratings abuse
My ever constant two last games seem to have no end in sight!
Re: Ratings abuse
The problem with this is that the ratings don't take effect until the game is archived. So what your saying about people leaving last minute ratings really doesn't make any sense.
Things are now unfolding that only prophecy can explain!

Re: Ratings abuse
can't happen the way you are claiming it happened. the game has to be archived before the ratings show. there isn't any way to see what someone has rated you, before you rate them. so, the OP is pretty much fabricating a scenario that can't ever happen.-0

Thanks... so I guess I was confused about how this ratings at time game is Archived thing works. I was sure that I've seen feedback show up faster though ... very odd.
Oh well, guess there is really no choice but to rate everybody who plays bad with bad ratings. Boy, that is really going to improve morale... (no wonder so many people don't like this ratings system - finally it clicks...)

Re: Ratings abuse
I only missed 2 rounds in 1300+ games I played but been rated below 5 in attendance by several people, which I can not understand. I only rate attendance below 5 when the person misses a turn.
Also can not undertand the fair play rating of less than 5 when you playing a 1 vs 1 game. How can you be un-fair when you have only one other play on the board. I

Nobody knows that other than you. All they know is the game that they were in with you. Should someone get 5 stars for playing all of their turns in one game on time? I don't think so. It is debatable, but surely not abuse.
Re: Ratings abuse
I think that if you foe someone, their feedback fo ryou should dissappear. If you dislike someone's play that much, to never want to play a game with them again, why shoudl their opinion of you count? I have never understood that.
Luckily, I have never gotten bad ratings. And woudln't care if I did.
