Re: Regarding wicked...
Surely Wicked's been reprimanded during her two plus years for her actions in the forums. I would also assume they have write-ups documenting each infraction(s). In all honestly, I don't see how it's any of our business. If the site indeed suffers because of it, then Lack will have to deal with the consequences not any of us. Dissatisfied with the product this site has to offer, then don't buy it.

On top of that, I think her response to all of this has been very childish. She is acting as though she is entitled to hold a position on someone else's website and this just isn't the case.
She was sick and on morphine... but they waited until her recovery to fire her!

Eh I know nothing of what is going on, I only heard about this because some nub sent a PM to a mass of people, but either way I don't really give a toss. Wicket seemed like a petty twofaced knob to me, so I can't say I really care what happens to her. And I honestly don't see what anyone else sees in her.
I am curious to know how all this unfolded though.

Trust me when I say, ...I love this site more than I love wicked, that's for sure.
Since lackattack the Turtle has spoken in his own mysterious manner, that's the final decision and whether any of us agree or not is immaterial.
All of us who are pro-CC can and should do, is to accept and support its decision which I do believe was made for the benefit of this site future progress and main objectives.

Re: Regarding wicked...
Lack, I was hoping for a great post from you.
This was pretty short and not your best, I hope.
Im disappointed that you havent even made an effort to write a good post about an(other) issue that seems to piss off many.
Wicked post was wellwrit and quite long.
Yours seem like you just wanted to get over with it.
Not taking side, just expressing my opinion.

Hence the firing happened ONCE she got better. Obviously you failed at reading my post, hence me specifying that. She was no longer disabled as she said she was better and off meds, correct?
That doesn't matter Fabled..it's what business owners want people to think..if the unsatisfactory job performance occurred during or as a result of an illness/short term disability and that is used in any way as even a part of the reason for terminating that employment the employee can appeal and/or sue and in most cases both in Canada and the US win and win big.

I am not a lawyer, but in Lack and Twills defense; Did wicked tell them she was ill before she was asked to step down, or was that only after the fact?

Re: Regarding wicked...
Wicked has been Ill for awhile now, last time I talked to her in Live Chat she was atleast. I see no reason to let Wicked go, she IS CC, with out her it is no more then Risk.
I really feel that you should have given her some time to take off while she was Ill untill she was better, but I guess you can't
the change the past... I am very disipointed in you, Lack and Twill, you could have done better.

Re: Regarding wicked...
Well, I'm certainly not going to sound like the most educated person in this thread, but I will share my thoughts on this matter, weather people like it or not
Me, my brother and Wicked never got along well, because of the whole 'banned' thing. But I believe what happened is wrong in so many differenet ways. For as much effort she put in to keeping this site moderated, chat protected and other various jobs she did, 'firing' her is complete nonsense. No, she was not always on everyones favorties list, but I believe she handled everything the same way Lack, Twill or Andy would. (Give or take a little attitude
) She gave this site personality.
While I may get flamed for saying I play Runescape, I don't care. I've run, and been in clans that fall due to reasons like these. The LEADER runs the clan, not Co-leaders. The co-leaders are there to help, thats it. The 'leader' of CC is Lack, and if he can't take control of HIS site, things like this are going to happen alot more often.
Also, if Twill and Lack have nothing to hide, why not bring it into the publics eye? I enjoy playing CC as much as anyone else here, but Wicked could get alot of money from Lack and this site. I'd suggest she get a lawyer.
This may be seen by some as 'immature', but I refuse to put my money into a site that pulls stunts like these, and hides things from its PAYING members/customers.
--------------------------------------------
Now, what I said above may seem like I'm defending Wicked, but I'm not completely. I've only read this thread so far on the issue, so please excuse any flaws in my post.
I do believe it is wrong to blame things on a disease or medical condition. My sister has tourettes, but you don't see her blaming it for everyday mistakes.
Those are my thoughts so far, love them or hate them. I don't care either way.

I'm just glad that when I terminate people I do not have to face a multitude of posts regarding it.
Re: Regarding wicked...
Just my quick legal opinion, but the US is a member state of the WTO which requires that its members conform to ILO minimum standards which in turn guarantee both procedural and substantive fairness in getting rid of employees. So without even delving into the municipal law, you cannot just fire someone at will in the States either.
Paid volunteer = employee. It doesn't matter that you call it paid volunteer or anything else, it just amounts to a simulated contract and the courts read the true nature of the contract rather than just the wording used.
Lastly, without knowing the behind-the-scenes I find it impossible to comment on the actual situation but I will say this....wicked was clearly popular and she took a hell of a lot of flak from the community while toeing the company line, worked hard and was just generally a pretty good face for CC as far as I can tell.

Re: Regarding wicked...
I think, in true 'Wicked' fashion, all of these threads regarding her termination should be merged into one big heaping pile of "shit happens"...
Who are any of you to demand her reinstatement? -You joined a website that offers an online game and if you're that upset about about a decision that was made for reasons that Lack, in good taste, prefers not to divulge, than perhaps you should reassess your membership.
Lack said himself that Wicked's contribution to this site was tremendous and I have to believe that it was not an easy decision, nor was it taken lightly; Yet, many of you act as if the creator of CC is obliged to consult with the Community before acting in the interest of his own site.
There are many, less vocal members, who feel that the decision was appropriate and overdue.
I wish the best for Wicked and truly hope she has a full and complete recovery, but I stand by Lack on this one and think that the manner in which the former mod is choosing to air the dirty laundry in a very public manner shows some of the same indiscretion that led to the firing in the first place.

This is incorrect if the State follows "employment at will".

While this is one of those things that could probably be argued in a court, I think I'll throw in Article 27(1) of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties anyway, heh.
Vienna Convention wrote:A State party to a treaty may not invoke the provisions of its internal law as justification for its
failure to perform the treaty.

It has already been argued in a court of law a number of times, and in my State (Ohio), the law provides for "employment at will". If you care, I can give you a couple of Ohio Supreme Court citations. If you really, really care, I can ask my law clerk to research and prepare a memorandum (at $125 an hour for the clerk)
Re: Regarding wicked...
CC is a Canadian-based company/site, and so would be governed by Canadian employment law, not US law.
Regardless of the ins and outs of it, surely it should be up to wicked to decide whether or not to persue any legal process?

Re: Regarding wicked...
Im actually getting kinda sick of all this. Everything changes people come and go, its life. This is lack's place (and yes we pay for it) so its his call. We don't know the ins and outs of the story. From what I can see Twill and Lack are being very professional in their dealings with the situatuion.
Lastly and this is directed to wicked ; did you inform lack and twill of your health problems or did you just let them know when you were feeling better? Becuase you should have informed them straightaway in my opinon!
Now for all you debating stupid legal action, the last paragraph is very very important lol

Re: Regarding wicked...
I think what we need is clearer guidelines. Or perhaps an automated PM sent to new members.
Along the lines of:
"Welcome to CC! Now you have paid over your money to us, you should know:
1) This is not a friendly site -you have NO rights, apart from unlimited games.
2) It is NOT a community - It is run by 2 people, and you must do whatever they say.
3)Any complaints you make will be called "spam" or "flames" -we strongly reccomend you keep your posts solely about how to hold Asia.
4) What Twilll says goes, if you don't like it, go away.
That way, people will know the truth from the start, and hopefully it means people will not renew their membership, and this site will end up where it belongs, on the slag heap.

I thought there were 3 admins?
Lack, Andy, and Twill...
also, this sounds like a list of rules in a mafia game

To play CC, you have tp lay it on a site, which is run by people. The people that are running it don't seem to care at all about the people that are playing it. So if you "just wanna play CC" you'd be well advised to keep some interest in whats going on.
Re: Regarding wicked...
I don't see why anyone cares this much. I know I don't. She got fired, laid off, unvolunteered, whatever. I am sure she has more important things in her life than reading posts on CC. If she doesn't, then I do feel bad for her. I am sure "Ex-CC Mod" will not appear on her tombstone. Quit bitching about CC, Twill, Hasbro, Canadian Law, suing and shutting down the site. While I am at it, dice ARE random, flaming is an art, and vodka is delicious.
