Re: Disney Land/World map
Yeah, I should have thought of that. Oh well, it was a thought

Its because Disney has copyright over disney-related stuff.
For a disney map to be made, you would have to contact the people in charge of Disney and ask them for permission to make the map. And they will probably say no.
i know m8;D i was being ironic. It dont show as good as i would be if i said it infront of you. This message system suck at sarkasm. Anyway i liked the idea and if you ever get copyright then it can be fixed i doubt they say yes tough.

Save the Rain forests map
My idea is basically a map that is based on pollution and saving the earth. It is a map of the world where The territories are divided into three types: the rain forests/the polluted areas/extreemly polluted areas. Rain forests receive +2 auto-deploy. The polluted areas receive a bonus of -1 per turn while the extreemly polluted receive -3 per turn. There bonuses will be in addition to the continent bonuses.
Victory is gained by holding all of the rain forests. (The Rain forests should be where they are in real life which is the entire equator making them open to attack from both the North and Southern Hemisphere while keeping them relatively hard to obtain since they are spread out across the whole map) [there will be at least one rain forest territory per continent]
The map should be about the same size in the # of territories as the World 2.1 map (probably a little smaller, but not as small as the classic map)

Its an interesting concept, but it might run into a few problems.
If it was to be W2.1 size, that would be very difficult to win by taking all of the rainforests. The game would probably run just like a normal map, because it would most likely be easier to just take over the entire map than cross the map and only take the rainforests.

How about an Africa Collection map? There could be North, South, East, West and Central Africa.
Example could be North Africa, where Western Sahara could have no bonus since it's not a recognized country. Northern Dafur, located within Sudan could have a negative bonus of -1 since rain falls rarely.

Interested in your idea on the Hell map. But, I think Dante's cartography would be problematic if you just had rings and rings and rings going down. Just wanted to throw out some ideas for your consideration.
Dante had only one city in Hell; Dis in the Fifth circle. Milton's "Paradise Lost" had Pandemonium as Lucifer's capital, but I am not sure where in hell it is. (ha, ha).
The Malebolge (Eight Circle) was divided into ten concentric ditches (making for interesting troop movement...) but did not actually touch the Ninth Circle (there being a gaping abyss, and guarded by Titans). You actually reached the Ninth by using bridges from the edge of the Seventh Circle that spanned entirely over the Malebolge. Note: some of these bridges were broken by Jesus' "Harrowing of Hell" and do not reach all the way across.
There are five rivers in Hell that could provide impassables: Archeron- separating the "Ante Hell" areas from Limbo (First Circle). Ante-hell areas have been called variously; the Vestibule and Erebus. Styx- separates the Fourth and Fifth Circle. Phlegethon, the River of Boiling Blood, separates the Sixth and Seventh Circle. The River Cocytus at some point flows down to the very center of Hell where Lake Cocytus is, not sure what levels it runs by. The River Lethe (also called Ameles) runs across the Lethe Plain (lethe pedion) [old Greek philosopher who wrote "Frogs"...can't remember name]and is drunk from before being reincarnated...not sure what Circles it runs by or through.
The Ninth Circle of Hell (Treachery) was divided into Antenora, Ptolomea, Canea, and Giudecca. I would assume that Pandemonium would be down there at the center/bottom. Of course Lake Cocytus is also at the center.
As for hellmouths (Buffyverse) or other avenues to get to earth, the Greeks had Nekromanteions that they thought were gateways to hell. Some in Greece, or thought to be in Mount Etna, or even in Ireland (St. Patrick).
Names for areas of hell for bonus designation? Hades, Infernus, Archeron, Sheol, Tartarus, Gehenna, and Abaddon have all been used at various times.
Lastly, cause I know I'm boring the hell out of you...reinforcements and bonuses. On reading different literature about hell, it's always about huge numbers. This demon has 36 legions at his command, that one 22, etc. For the Risk game part, what if all the calculations were "ten-tupled", it wouldn't actually effect gameplay, but wouldn't it be cool to get your base 30 Legions of Demons, instead of a "mere 3", as reinforcements. To have 360 Legions hacking it out against 272!!!
Thanks for indulging my muse. Hope some of it was helpful.

There are quite a few maps that cover that same area already. Probably not such a good idea.

A bare bones geographic map doesn't exist. Have you seen how many people struggle with that map

what do you mean?
No political borders, just straight geography? Can't think of any maps like that, unless you include fantasy maps.

p.s i was being sarcastic
USSRmageddon
USSR version of USApocalypse. I can't do maps to save my life, but it's an idea
Re: USSRmageddon
If you are going to post ideas, it is asked that you post it in the New Map Ideas topic at the top of this forum. Thanks for the idea, though.

Now there's an interesting idea.
I'm not going to try to make it, but I'd support anyone that did try.
but yes, this should be posted in the map ideas sticky.

Re: New Map Ideas Thread, Open! - Post Ideas Here
well the continents on South America are geographic. the territories aren't though really. You'd need quite the perfect geographic area to make all that possible.
Idea:
World Map. We have Classic. We'll soon have high seas. Next we need a map that includes both ocean and land for the entire world. No jumping over water to get to another land mass. That's six or seven land continents (Antarctica?) And, another six or so ocean continents. North/South Pacific and Atlantic. Indian Ocean. Arctic Ocean. (southern ocean?)
Actually that idea sounds so good I'm starting a thread for it.

Pluto's not considered a planet anymore, it's a dwarf planet now.
