I used to play these games all day back in high school. trust me i have had enough subs thrown my way to answr any riddle. this is your answer:
Flip the 7 and 11 min clocks at the same time because once the 7 mins runs out out the first clock, that tells you that there are only 4 mins remaining in the 11 minute clock. once the 7 clock runs out throw it away and immediatly flip the 11 minute one back over for the full eleven minutes. 4+11=15

heres one. its more of a math problem, but its still good:

there are 2000 students at a school.
Each students takes 7 classes each day.
Each teacher teaches 5 classes a day.
Each class has 25 students.
for every 14 teachers, there is 1 assistant principal.

How many assistant principals are there at the school?

Easy one:
if Billy can paint a house in 6 hours and Bob can paint a house in 10 hours, how long will it take them to paint a house if they work together?

new question:

prove that 0.999999999 repeated equals one
(there are two ways to do this. if you know both, post both. if you know one, post it and someone else will post the other way)

it equals 0.99999999 repeating, so how does it equal one? unless when you plug it in the calculator it comes out as one, this should be interesting

no sfh just because the calculator says it equals 1 doesnt mean it does.

here is the first solution:

make x=.9999999999....

first multiply x by ten = 9.9999999999 (10x=9.999999.....)
then subtract x =9.000000 (9x=9.0000000)

then with simple algebra, solve 9x=9.

since x=.99999.... , .99999... = 1

now does anyone know the other solution?
