You draw an image in an image editing program to get the shape of the map.

If you don't understand the XML, just ask one of the regulars here to do it for you. Zimmah and Lanyards and Yeti_C do XML all the time. But you don't need to write XML until the very end of production.

Stadium Maps

Post by harrisap »

There are endless possibilities for this. My idea was to have all the baseball stadiums in the USA (and the one in Canada). Bonuses could be awarded for getting all stadiums in a division and then a league (AL or NL). Next idea was football and basketball, same idea on bonuses. Then we could go global with soccer, cricket, or anyother sport that is played around the world. If there are copyright issues for team names, just use the city names.

Not my preferred sort of sport map but certainly workable. There have been some attempts in the past. The most recent that I recall along these lines was a college football map that had a lot of potential but looks like it was abandoned. There is a hockey map in progress but it is different (focused on a generic arena with stands and ice and such. The demand for sports maps is high on the site. Good luck!

been tried many times... if you think you can make one that will work though, go right ahead.

do the following:

FILE: Save

then it will come up with a box with links to things like your applications folder, desktop etc, i always click the desktop one

Then change the area that should say Untitled to what you want to name it, like MAP 1 and add to the end .png, then click save

Eastern Hemisphere is set in 1910...

As far as a WWI map in the style of Qwert's military WWII maps, I haven't seen many posts about that. There's been some interest in Gallipoli.

but WW! was mostly in Europe...
Eastern Hemisphere is Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Africa...
therefore, WWI would be more detailed geographically

it's okay, I'm also thinking that a map of the "stan" countries might be good. I could be called "Central Asia" or something like that,

Disney Land/World map

Post by jeliot »

I thought it would be fun to have a Disney Land map where you can take over all the sections of the park, i.e. frontier land, etc. I have no idea how to make a map and I think you guys would do a better job even if I did:) It would be cool though, to work in the haunted mansion, the matterhorn, pirates of the carribean, that sort of stuff. Just an idea!:) Thanks!!

Its because Disney has copyright over disney-related stuff.
For a disney map to be made, you would have to contact the people in charge of Disney and ask them for permission to make the map. And they will probably say no.
