Not yet but we will. I'm sure we'll think of something.

I'm not sure, we tried to do something well in advance for the thread birthday and it only served to create disappointment when the plan didn't happen, so I'm kind of wary about planning things way off into the future.
by the way, I had a really freaky dream last night. I was a scientist in this study where we watch this guys dreams and what we realized is that what the guy is dreaming is actually coming true. But then we see a nuclear war in his dream and we start freaking out trying to figure out how it happens and in the end we end up killing him trying to find out. I think I might write a story based on this dream, though I would have to change a couple things around and fill in the gaps of course.

Re: the longest thread, thread - Occasionally NSFW
I often have dreams that make a certain amount of sense like that - if I could write them up they'd make a decent plot.
I had a most horrific dream once about a new drug (a recreational one I mean, not a medicinal one) - it spread amongst the college crowd like wildfire, gave you a great high with no apparent health hazards, and apparently increased your intelligence by a measurable amount.
It was illegal but there was a growing call to legalise it, with many non-drug users so convinced by what they saw that they didn't object either.
The "me" in the dream gradually discovered that (a) it was addictive after all , though in some subtle way which I don't recall, (b) one of its side-effects was to make you almost a religious convert, so eager did you become to get your friends and neighbours to try it, and (c) once you'd been taking it for about six months it turned you into a murdering psychopath.
From that point on the me in the dream began to discover cupboards full of severed limbs, and other grisly evidence. Of course, the me in hte dream had just started taking the drug...

Wow that's a freaky dream.
I've started to work on my story. I've decided that the guy who has his dreams watched first name will be Damien. It's a reference to both the anti-christ and Nostrodamus. Still working on a last name.

I just remembered another major point of the dream-plot - I had discovered that the drug had been deliberately engineered for this purpose, and I desperately needed to convince the rest of the world of this before I descended into the bloodlust myself: thus I couldn't just kill myself to get out of it.

Ah now the plot holes are getting filled. Interesting dream, though it would be hard to write a good story about it without changing the plot around some.

Quite often when I dream, I also see the plot appearing as if handwritten as if superimposed on the images. Sometimes I can even read the words.

Just a thought before i go. Can any of you help me think up a last name for Damien. I'm really stuck on this part. I want it to have a meaning behind it but I don't want it to be supercomplicated.

Look up the word for "dream" or "dreamer" or"the end" or "bomb" in a few languages - not forgetting Esperanto, Klingon, Welsh, or other unexpected ones. Find one that sounds good.

Re: the longest thread, thread - Occasionally NSFW
After looking through some languages I would either say Damien Pen (Celtic for end) or Damien Reveur (French for dreamer.) The others I saw wouldn't have sounded right at all.

Pen is Welsh for "Chief" or "Boss" or "head"- as in Pendragon.
"End " woud be Terfyn, "death" Marwolaeth.
I've always wanted to name a character Allan Fford, which is Welsh for "Way Out".
"Timely" woudlbe Amserol, "graveyard "Minwent", "Tragic" Aleaethus.
Ooh, I like that last one.

Re: the longest thread, thread - Occasionally NSFW
Hey I looked it up in a Celtic dictionary not a welsh. It gave me Pen. Though I don't I really like either of them anyways.
Though Aleaethus as you say is catchy.

How am I supposed to know when you yawn in real life? besides taking a hint is not my specialty.
Anyways, I've been bored out of my mind lately. All my friends are out of town (my GF's in Florida until saturday afternoon). My car's not fit to go anywhere until we get a new rad. (which was supposed to be fixed the last time we went in but for whatever never happened) so I cant really go anywhere. And I've already read all of the good books in my house 2 or 3 times.

yaaaaaawn all you like.
(a) you were bored enough to post about being bored
(b) i'd love to see you say something more interesting.
For example, can you think of anything interesting to do when we reach 2000 pages, for example?

Yes, I am awake late enough to say "for example" twice in the same sentence. Good night all.
