1-st in The World Championship - June 2008 (25/80)

Hello Everyone

I decided to create big 1vs1 tournament, description please read below

General Overview
World Championship is 1vs1 tournament, wich consists of two phase, 1- qualification and 2 - Final phase. 80 players begin qualification phase, each choose their home map. 16 groups will be created with 5 teams in each. And only top 2 from group, in total 32 teams from qualification stage advances to final phase. And only one from 80 will become a champion.

Startup
82 maps are divided in 5 pots. When player joins tournament he/she chooses home map(2 map will be left out). After all 80 players join tournament, they will be allocated in 16 groups one map from each pot in Group. Draw will be held online in Live chat.

Qualification phase Structure
In Qualification phase, each player will meet other players from his/her group 2 times, on home and away maps. each player will have 8 games in group. After all 20 games are played in group, top 2 will be determined who will advance in final phase.

Points
Winner receives 3 points, Loser 0. top 2 in the group will be defined by highest points accumulated. If several teams in group have same points, then the matches between them is compared and if one won both home and away this player has preference, if this is also same than number of rounds are compared (between players with same pints) winning in lesss round will decide who goes to next stage.

Final Phase
32 players will advance in final phase, and 8 groups will be made by draw with 4 players in each. Final phase is played on neutral ground on Classic map. Each player meets once to other players from own group, top 2 advance to 1/8 final. Scores and decisions for equal scores are same as in qualification phase. 8 winners of 1/8 finals go to 1/4, and 4 from 1/4 final to 1/2 semifinal, from which winners play final on World 2.1 map and defeated players 3-rd place match on Classic map. in 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3-rd place and final games players have only 1 match on classic map (except final which is on World 2.1 map), which reveals winner.
Matches
There will be 10 rounds in qualification phase. Matches in group stage will be ran from Monday (after filling up), and each second day new round opens untill Saturday, Weekends no new rounds will be open. If games finish quick, and rounds finish in 1 day, next round will be open every day exept weekends. Final round in qualification group will be open after all previous rounds are finished. Final phase will begin next monday after Qualification phase is over and draw done, but last round in Groups will be open when all previous rounds are over. after group stage, each round will be opened after previous rounds are over (all matches played). After Semifinal 3-rd place game will be played on Classic map and last match is Final on World 2.1 map. Match numbers and passwords will be sent in PM after it is created.

Other
1. All matches are Standard/Sequential/Flat Rate/Chained/Sunny. In Final if both opponents agree there will be Fog of war, and Unlimited Fortifications
2. Joining Requirements - Minimum 10 games completed and score over 500
3. Freemiums welcomed as long as they have at least 2 free spot in group stages and at least 1 next stages. if they have no space and will not join in 24 hours they will be disqualified and filled with reserves.
4. Desired that we have 5-10 reserves, If a player for some reasons can not continue tournament appreciated that they inform before their map is opened.
5. Players should join the game in 24 hours after it is open, or inform me in advance in case of any delay
6. missing turns during tournament: If player misses one turn without informing in advance, gets warning, in case of 2 missed turns I will contact and try to find out the reason, if no reply this player will be disqualified for next game. In case I get some responce, but player missed 3-rd time a round, he/she will be automatically out from next game on.
7. I will be happy if someone wants to help me with organizing and being co-host. for making tournament more organized.

NOTE: In case of your opponent missed a turn or have not joined in 24 hours, please let me know, by this you are not doing anything bad, just helping tournament to be more organized.
