Well it was him or Hillary, and that woman...well I'd say she has a few skeletons in her closet, but there's actually nothing but skeletons in there. Hell, the closet's actually made out of bones. It isn't so much a closet as a mass grave.

Re: OBAMA
the Democratic party has become a joke. I for one will not vote for a person whom has very little experience and, to some people, a superstar. Not to mention his affiliation with Rev. Wright and his over the top theological rants.
I wish him luck but, the fact is that he will not win.
I am sure that the people who voted for Clinton are going to be crossing party lines.
I am totally disgusted with the entire Dem. delegate process. big joke is what it is.
Turning in my Dem card for Republican card today and, my vote will be for Mcain.

Yup, finally official. Now let's see what the Republicans can do to Barack in the next five months. Unless it's really, really devious, Obama's going to have to do something unspeakably dumb to not get elected in the Democratic tide.
What's wrong with being a superstar? Don't we want a president to be a superstar?

Nah, you want the president to be a war-veteran!

As a veteran myself, I respect Mcain. POW for all those years and still has lots of fight in him.
Obama really doesn't even have a chance at this job. he wants to negotiate with terrorists.
that is totally ridiculous. his wife is a wack job too. born & raised in this country and NOW she's proud of being an american
That is just fracking amazing to me.

While I understand national security will obviously be a very important issue in the upcoming election, if democrats more or less flee the party to go to someone who im not sure is going to do us any big picture favors as far as foreign policy goes, i will probably count myself as one of those who is disappointed again with the American people.

You know what? England had a problem with some terrorists. The IRA.
They weren't doing too much until 30 January 1972 (Bloody Sunday) - but after the Para's shot dead 13 innocent people, they really began to get support and their attacks against England escalated.
To cut a very long story short, it was only after they sat down and thrashed out a ceasefire in 2005 that bombings in England stopped.
America should learn from previous world terrorist situations, instead of invading Muslim countries, and increasing the amount of people willing to take up arms against America.
You can't fight terrorists with an army because they aren't all running around in a uniform like the Germans and Japanese in WW2.
Plus - the cost of invading Iraq and Afghanistan is crippling your country.
Explore all options.
Invasion should be a last resort.

This is too broad a statement(fight in him?)(negotiate with terrorists?), so could you please be more clear?
Also, you are the first soldier I have talked to that is in favor of war. Let alone one without a point. And as a vet who respects McCain, how do you feel about his voting against: veteran's education benefits, increasing their medical funding, and being one of 13 senators to vote against inpatient outpatient care for vets? I am very curious.

Hey, let's be like England and turn in our guns and eat crappy food..yum yum
Sorry, are you suggesting that being bombed by the IRA made British food better?
Or that the UK wasn't in the UN before negotiating with the IRA?
Or did a bunch of chimpanzees sneak up to your computer and practise for this play called "Hamlet" they're going to write one day?

How does everyone feel about Obama saying that there is no evidence of the NAFTA SUPERHIGHWAY? Lou Dobbs did a report on this and it made me laugh. Obama also has asked a prominent member of Builderburg to find him a runningmate, and the Tri-Lateral Commission has endorsed him. Don't these things show that Obama really has sold-out already? it seems to me that he just has the people tricked. I just want to know what everyone thinks of this....

ummmm does anyone remember Reagan Cheese. lol was quite good btw.
if Obama wins his socialist views will cripple america. socializing healthcare is another of the dumb ideas. i like to pick and choose my doctors and, i work hard for my health benefits.
to me socialized healthcare is the same as getting a hand out while hard working folks get the shaft.
Capitalist Forever! that is what made America great.
to the question above. my point is mccain isn't right but, obama would be a very bad choice.
mcain " fight inside his soul. i would rather see the war over there than here wouldn't you? Iran, Korea, very dangerous. would you make deals with them??? As far as Military benefits, i no longer an in the military and i work in the private sector. i think that military personnel can get better benefits without using military money. they are still young and, have alot to offer private companies. many many fortune 500 companies love to hire the military.
pension plan, full tuition payments, med, dental, 401K .... it really does go on & on.
I never used my VA Loan or my education benefits. I would never go to the VA hospital.
too many student doctors practicing on people for my liking. I'm sure that money can be used for raising salaries to the military personnel and to better upkeep military facilities.

He's the antichrist, what did you expect?
Yay for Obama. And yay for the US - this is a massive landmark. A black presidential frontrunner. Fantastic. Way to go!
'Ooooh his wife isn't proud enough to be american, his pastor [who Obama has cut ties with] said some bad things' - are these really reasons to vote GOP? Really?
I wonder if, come polling day, the US will demonstrate it has healed itself enough to vote in a black president. Hope so.
BTW RD - please see the 'universal healthcare' thread. It will explain to you just how disastrously wrong you are on this issue.

Re: OBAMA
So you would prefer to see America get involved in another Iraq, fighting insurgents instead of sharing the countries wealth to offer healthcare to all Americans? Jesus H Christ!
You think this is what makes America great? Get a passport and visit European countries. Experience the other side of the coin before cheering your armed forces off to another country only to be killed by a roadside bomb.

This is the most ludicrous thing ever! Which in my opinion can only be attributed to racism. Hillary and Obama have VERY simular views, so why the heck would anyone cross party lines to vote for McCain? I am a Republican, and there is no way in hell I would vote for McCain.
McCain = 12 years of Bush. Get real, Bush's approval rating is about 30%. The people want change. McCain would be more of the same.
THE DEBATE IS OVER...

Ok, I respect that.
But I don't think that Iran, or Korea is a danger to me, here in America. The North koreans are very weak economically, and are on every nations watch list. Though no, I wouldn't deal with them. And I don't see how Iran is a danger to anyone either. It just seems to me that the US propaganda machine is out to color them badly. There is no accepted evidence that they are pursuing nukes, and they are fighting Al-Qaeda too. In fact they are suing the U.S. for funding Al-Qaeda attacks in Iran. So is Russia. But you don't here that on CNN. It has also been proven in court that they are not giving weapons to Iraqi insurgent. While the U.S. has 'misplaced' hundreds of thousands of weapons in Iraq. I think that the only real threat they pose to the U.S. is with their OIL BANK, economically speeking. I think it is mostly propaganda. But! I'm open to a rebuttle.

so Roger, in other words are you saying it's a choice between a human poop sandwich and a horse poop one? i mean neither sound good but I'd rather eat horse poop than human poop if i had to lol ... i mean, it's not a choice between like Washington and Lincoln !
oh and there is no way he can be elected ... some people think the reverend thing didn't hurt him much ... but look at the polls ... when people look at these they don't look deep enough .. for example ...
national polls - and the attendant wishful-thinking among all the Barack fans in the media - that show "0-Bama bouncing back" and has thus "overcome any damage done to him by Rev Jeremiah Wright"?
NOTHING.
These polls are a measure of how Barack Hussein Obama is thought of by DEMOCRAT VOTERS ONLY - they are the ones who will first forgive and forget the Rev Wright-Obama love affair.
There remains No Evidence (nor any common sense) suggesting INDEPENDENT and REPUBLICAN voters - most espceically White, Blue Collar voters in key swing states - have forgiven nor forgotten the hateful Wright and Obama's long, close embrace of Wright's twisted dogma.
From here, BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA REMAINS UNELECTABLE IN A GENERAL ELECTION.

The most dangerous person is YOU and your thoughts.
By England joining in with America and invading 'very dangerous' Iraq, Three underground trains and a bus were blown up in London.
I doubt they would of been 'here' if we hadn't of gone 'over there' first.
Unless of course you are suggesting that Iran and N Korea are going to send a task force of 50+ Aircraft carriers to directly attack America on it's home soil.
