Interesting point: Mussolini eradicated the sicilian Mafia, after the war American Soldiers mistook them for political prisoners and freed them. Locals know how to govern themselves best. We can't put in puppet governments and expect it to function efficiently and fairly.

Tell that to him, I'm quite aware of that fact.

Rather than continue to argue this I am going to say that I didn't do a good job stating what I meant and I was a little rash with some of the things I said. However, I am not changing my overall opinion on what I've said about Saddam and a life sentence.

So I dont jump to conclusions, please define "terrorist" and specify to whom he "was a terrorist".

I agree w/ backglass, i'm not saying he was a nice guy, but a terrorist is a very specific connotation. He ind't want to instill fear in the kurds, he jsut wanted them dead. Anyone who has a rudimentary knowledge of the area knwo that Saddam Hussein dn Al Quaeda never got along very well. Its mainly Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and other highly religious countries that fund Al Quaeda (who i believe are the terrosits you're referring to here)

Just to be clear from now on I'll refer to al quaeda and all those other guys as Extremists. I consider Saddam a terrorist for the same reason I consider Hitler to have been a terrorist, because he commited genocide.

i've never agreed with the death sentence, and am glad not to have it in this country, isn't it just carrying on saddam's example if we hang him???
