delboy01 wrote:Don't all get too excited by this statement. It is just a statement of the facts. if you read though the thread it is possible that buzz won the games to implicate hans. It is also possible that hans did this to prove that buzz had done it previously due, as was stated earlier, to the fact that hans accused buzz of doing this. It may also be possible that due to the hissy fit going on between them that they are both doing it, which is why hans knew buzz was doing it and accused him, primarily because he could do it too!!
As I said previuosly this one is going to be fun to pick the bones out of!!!
I think that we need to look at the big picture here. In a way, it's not that important who's guilty; in this case. This will prove that cheating, like this, is possible. All the players that have been accused ,in the past, of this type of cheating and have been cleared by the mods will have to explain. The implications will be huge and many people that have skated for doing this in the past will be exposed. Don't get me wrong, the cheater here needs to be punished. It's just that there are many others who have been cleared because this type of cheating was not possible or probable.
I promise you that there are a number of players sweating right now.
Have to agree with cisco on that. It is a fact you can set up accounts using different ip addresses and countries of origins etc. True it is very sad and pathetic that someone would spend that amount of time doing all of this, but it is apparently true. Also I believe someone mentioned the odds as being astronimcal. I think the actually percent chance of the noobs joining at that exact same time and then joining the same game is 4%.
I'm not sure how the mods go about cases like this, but have cleared them in the past before. I'm not sure if they just don't want to face up to the idea that it is a whole new ballgame of cheating out there or what. Not trying to offend, but 4% happening in lots of peoples games. Just doesn't happen. Thats like saying you should win the lotto by the age of 23.
Fireside Poet has asked me to look into this one for proxy action.
I'm stuck in Chicago airport (about to be bumped from my 3rd flight of the day...) but I will look into it tomorrow (assuming I'm not still here) and get back to you.
If you don't hear from me by monday, someone drop me a PM to remind me just in case
Have a good one Twill
Retired. Please don't PM me about forum stuff any more.
Is this the first Bust for proxy abuse? I can't recall seeing or hearing about one before. I'm very happy to see this either way, as there have been a number of players suspected of this recently, and it will be great to know whether they're cheating or just victims (or abusers) of unlikeliness.
I knew it. There is a bunch of ass clenching going on right now. I'm curious to see how other players accused of this in the past are going to react. This is a big precedent!

Cisco2001
Further proof of probability on my cheating theories...
Thanks to Twill for taking a look into this. I am pretty interested to see what happens here now that there is a check for proxy abuse. I know on wikipedia they have a big problem with TOR networks and vandalism.
Think of what is going to happen to klob firth and whats his face ogg. Feeling were going to see alot less noobs in one game very quickly once word of this spreads.

I'm not talking about Han Solo, that was a clearcut case of cheating. I'm talking about non-assassin 8 player circus maximus games, where its not actually the case that cheating and multi-ing is involved after a little research done by myself.
It's nice that this finally got worked out. My two cents are: regardless of who was guilty and who was innocent, BuzzPower took every opportunity to be a twat. The best examples are his responses to anything posted by Lubawski, who has got to be one of the most reasonable, courteous people I've ever seen post here.
Also, ParadiceCity9, dude... okay, you win the prize for posting this concern first. LOL... it was funny reading through this and seeing how concerned you were about getting credit for it, only to find your last "GO ME!" post.
