Here's a reasonable one I've found already... at least to give ideas of how it might work... still needs to be made maplike from here.

Here's another possibility but it only goes to level 6, then we'd need another connected part of the map (a-la Bamboo Jack style) to work from 7->9

Then

You know I wonder if the 9 levels of hell are not too much to put into one map... they could be separated into the 3 types of sins, forming three different maps...

The sins of Incontinence - Rings 1-5,
The sins of Violence - Rings 6-7
The sins of Fraud - Rings 8-9

This might make the concept more feasible... What do people think?

Darn, literally a few days ago, I thought of looking up the circles of hell to see if they would make a good map, but it looks like you got to it first. Tomorrow I'll look through the description and see if I have any suggestions.

Don't make the circles a pit, you'll never have enough space to put all the circles. Just make it 9 concentric circles, and it will work fine.

divide them up by the sins because having nine levels all in one map would be like gimils skyscraper map, whch you could do if you sweet talk the cartos.

I suspect this will be the right way to go about it, but we still need to fit a fair bit in, and of course, there is "more" information (ie, the maelbolge's) in the lower rings, than in the upper ones... I suppose I could make those thicker, and fit territories in. I think I need to discard "realism" (or at least, by the book-ism) and try and bring this into a conceptual map idea, I'll work on it a bit later.

The map of it I had when I was reading the Inferno was like what I described... If only I still had the book somewhere.

I know my housemate has a copy, not sure if it's the version with the map, but I'll see when he gets home.

Here's a couple more options to look at...

Image

I quite like how this translates circles into depth...

Image

A simplified version, including the mountain of purgatory

Image

I really like this last one... but would need to make some space down the bottom.

Conquer Club Hell [Idea]

Post by DaGip »

I would like to see the most convoluted, misread, misdrop-prone CC map board ever!

Like having a bunch of names that are similar, colors that blend the numbers in to being almost invisible, sneaky little dives where you think you are bordering an adjacent territory, but you are not...stuff like that!

Sounds like pointlessness to the infinity power. This belongs in New Map Ideas.

I would probably support it myself but I doubt anyone else would.

the map is named "technicolor".
Each color is a continent.
Each pixel is a territory.
The territory names are ### x ###, using coordinates to name the territories.
The bonus for holding an entire color is equal to the number of countries (pixels) in that color.

Difficult enough for you?

Even more hellish would be a game like this: (numbers display player starting position, the vertical and horizontal lines indicate impassable borders)

Code: Select all

 | [1] |
|_____|

One territory...no attacks...no fortication...no way to win...if you deadbeat, you lose! That's hell. ;)

there should be random army count numbers that are part of the map, not actual army counts. And army shadows where there are no territories.

How about random borders every turn? That would be pretty hellish...

I think this would be a great map, if not extremely annoying. I would probably play it once, just to try it, and then become so annoyed that I would never play it again. Sounds good!
