Quick Search Option for Game Finder
Description:
A quick search to be able to be able to find games faster would be helpful and save a lot of time. That way you do not have to do a lot of clicking just to search for the same type of game over and over again. I know it is not needed, but it would make things a lot nicer.

Specifics:
- Searches a saved preference for a particular criterion for Game Finder.

There's a plug in that does this. Have a look at that forum.

Premium Perk - Save favourite game finder tick boxes
I'm fed up of clicking the check boxes on the game finder:
Specifics:
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
- Premium membership needs additional perks, and I don't think this would be too much to ask for as a small addition
Specifics:
- You click on a box saying 'Favorite games style' tick the boxes of the game finder that you most want to look for and then click 'confirm save'
- Then after finding a game of your choice, you go back to game finder page, click 'favorites' and instantly search again for the same settings
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
- more people will search for games
- less new games will be started cluttering up the join games list

There's a Greasemonkey script for this exact purpose.

This should be a site perk, not something a player should have to do for themselves.
I'm not good with pc's

Why would they want to spend time building it into the site, when anyone with the desire and 5 minutes of free time can get the option already?

1. Because it would improve the site.
2. I want this function, but do not know how to load the greasemonkey bit you are talking about, nor where to find it.
3. Not everyone who plays CC is active in the forums
4. Lack wants the game finder section as uncluttered as possible.
5. More Premium perks will encourage more players to part with their cash.

3. true
4. Did he tell you that?
5. also, probably true

If you don't want Greasemonkey, don't complain about not being able to use its functions. Pretty simple, really.

Or just build them into the server itself...
This is a place for ideas... If you don't like the idea, than don't vote for it... But sitting their bitching telling me that I have to install something else on my computer is fucking retarded...

Chill out - You and I both know that updates in this place take forever... so - until it comes along - use GM - or wait.

And I was perfectly willing to wait until Timminz felt the need to be a douche to Pedro and myself.

Pedro...
If you need help installing BOB - or any other GM script then go for this thread...
viewtopic.php?f=59&t=41487
Then install the script from here...
http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/13710
Sadly this version is a touch out of date... so we then need to do the following...
Right click on monkey bottom right corner.
Choose "manage user scripts"
Select the script "Conquer Club Saved Searches" (or similar)
On the right hand side in the "included pages" box
replace
Code: Select all
http://www.conquerclub.com/player.php?page=findwith
Code: Select all
http://www.conquerclub.com/player.php?mode=findC.

See, basically you are telling people that thy have to use Firefox... Now, I use Firefox, so I don't care, but a lot of people do not or can not for whatever reason...
This suggestion I think should definitely go on the to do list...

I'm not telling anyone that they have to use anything - I'm saying that there are a lot of cool scripts that work with FF - if you want to use them - then you're more than welcome.

Lack has various plans to add "Greasemonkey" like improvements to the website over the next while, but they are lower on the priority list, but always there is a chance they may sneak into an early update if they are relatively easy to work out.

Automatic Game replay search
I love love Conquerclub!! One thing that I find a bit unefficient is having to input all the criteria for what time of game I want to play every single time I hit "Game Finder"...waiting for players, map, game type, escalating or fixed, casual, speed...etc.
I see two good possible solutions for this:
1) Save my criteria from my last search. I almost always play the same criteria. If my last search was saved, then all I have to hit is one or two more buttons for the search instead of having to check-off each critiera every time.
or,
2)At the end of a game, have a button that says "Search for similar game". This could be really convenient. Say for example I played a "World 2.0, casual, standard, escalating, chained, 4 player game". At the end of the game, it would be really great if I just had to hit a button that would search for a game with the same criteria.
What do you think? Thanks!

Use GET instead of POST for Game Finder "Submit"
Problem:
Solution:
- We would like to bookmark certain "searches" (via Game Finder). For example, one might always search for games that are "waiting for players", "4-8" players, "classic", "standard", "sequential", etc. One must select all these options in Game Finder every time he or she searches for a new game to join.
Solution:
- In the Game Finder, instead of sending the form information as POST, send it as GET, so that the desired game parameters are available and saved in the URL alone. Then, we can simply add the game-finder page to our bookmarks, and always get the same kinda games without selecting all those parameters!
- Although I'm sure the developers know this... the only code that needs to change is to make the <form>'s method "GET", and in the PHP code for the game finder page, if you currently use $_REQUEST variables, then you don't need to change anything; however, if you use $_POST, then change all those to $_GET.

Use the mouse wheel to join multiple games so it opens them up in new tabs.
