the border should be like the original map. no gameplay changes are allowed for revamps. it screws the ongoing games if you change the gameplay.

Actually Canada had a 4 way I I put a lake at teh connectino so it visually went away. Indochina had a 4 way, I changed it an no one ever noticed.
if the borders are the same as the old xml then it's ok. meaning northumberland must not connect to galloway and cumberland must not connect to lothian. in the revamp cumberland does connect to lothian and that is bad because it screws the gameplay. in the original version you needed to hold northumberland and cumberland to attack both terits over the bridge. now you can leave northumberland with no troops and put a big stack on cumberland. a player used to the old gameplay will naturally leave lothian defenceless as he will be sure it can't be attacked.
so do what wm did on canada or what keyogi did on middle east and find a solution to keep the 4 way but mask it. otherwise there will be problems. a lot of them.

I agree with DiM on this one. I don't think it should be a problem to keep the gameplay like the original.

I think this was suggested but take on of the end pillars of teh wall and put it in the middle. Then move the borders on both sides to meet there. Woudl that work?
iancanton wrote:in the map, it appears that cumberland can attack lothian & borders. the xml confirms this. this is a change in gameplay from the original british isles map, so i think it isn't intentional. perhaps u can redraw the cumberland-northumberland border to meet the one between dumfries & galloway and lothian & borders as a four-way, then plant a watchtower in hadrian's wall in the middle of the four-way (to block the diagonal attacks) – maybe something that looks like a chess rook.
I know I'm coming to this discussion late and one of these points will probably have been discussed to death but I'm going to make them anyway and then don my hard hat.
1) In the key Glouchester should read Gloucestershire (or at the very least Gloucester). There is no h in it
2) The area marked as Dorset should really be Somerset & Dorset. And if people don't want both names then it should really be Somerset as that is the larger of the two counties.
Hi guys - not sure if this is the right place - but the spelling of the isle of white should be isle of wight. Small point i know, but if you live in the isle of wight (i dont) I am sure they would like it right!
Gimil, perhaps it's worth removing your 1st draft from the 1st post, and leaving it there as a url instead, so that people don't comment on it thinking it's your final draft

Thanks for picking that up; and welcome to the forums/foundry As my post above ^^ indicates, I think you've replied to the earliest image of this development. Don't worry about it though - these map developmnet threads can be confusing and bewildering at first.... you'll get used to it

As far as I can see, the latest version still has an "h" in Gloucester in the key.

The name of this map should be changed to Great Britain & Ireland or Ireland & Great Britain.
Ireland is a republic and many people spent many years fighting and have given their lives to be recognized as such. It still gives a lot of us Irish the needle to be called under the "British Isles" name.
Would just like to point out that I have nothing against Great Britain personally, I lived there for 10 years and enjoyed my time there but would just like my country recognized for what it is and that is a separate state. Thanks.
