MHMusic World

Post by martijn »

Hi Dudes,

I made a map myself. It is a far far away world  I like a map crispy, clean and clear so this is what came out. What do you think about it?
Any comments about, borders, continents points etc. are very welkom.
And yes, there are a lot of Paris town's at this moment.;) I'll come up with cool names. First things first, the layout of the map;)
I myself am still thinking about all those above points.

I did some adjustments, I added 3D in the name of the map, good sugestion Holyboy! And I tried to get the borders better where Holyboy pointed them out. I also put in some armies in for a good feeling and a colour check;). I also got rid of the Paris thing;) As you can see every continent has it's name.

Changed colours in the Red Distric to only red flavours and did the same for Yellow. http://www.mhmusic.nl/images/MAP_CC_MHMusicWorld_v0.3.jpg

Sharpend out the corners. Add an extra border between st Christina and Grasslands. Redefind borders near Paris. Reshaped Ingyland.

The dropdown boxes could be a bit confusing with all the parises.

I like the 3-D idea, but people might get confused by the design. Is the most Northern Blue District Paris bordering the Red District? Is Green Island bordering two Paris(es?) or one? You might want to make it clearer on the map where these borders lie.

Also, you might want to vary the color of the tinted circles for some countries. In the most Northern Paris in the Blue District, I don't think players will see the number if the army color is blue. Same with Red Rosie with the red army color. Varying the tint of the circle would make it easier to read.

Perhaps making the grey rock in the middle of the map a neutral? Seems east vs west needs to be connected a bit more and perhaps a "no mans land" would be the answer. I would debate that Shakira, Janet and Marty (LOL!) are saints tho. :D

Very nice start!

about what FP said you should move the connection at rubbers and rock state to the ones above (grasslands and st christina)

then you should make another coutry with the "tail-like" part of rubbers and stealing some land form ingyland so it also borders susie

and finnaly the middle graything can connect thc dc and the new contry and maybe rockstate and st brittney or rubbers and mush

but heck i would play it right now if i could

You need to unify the colors in each continent a lot more (ie make the red continent more red!). I thought most of the yellow continent was gray, and there are a lot of yellows in the red continent. Other than that I think its a great start to a map.

Also if you post a new image each time you update its much easier for people to understand the changes that occurred. Since this is the first version I've seen I don't know what all the suggestions were talking about, and its difficult to see the progress that you've made.

This looks vaguely like Scandinavia. Greenland especially like Sweden.
ImageChildren, this is what happens to hockey players, druggies, and Hillary Clinton.

Wow your right, if you get rid Greylands and yellow. Greenland like finland, Red district like sweden, Blue islands like norway and purple like denmark. Very vague though.

No more opinions?
I guess most people want to play a existing map...
But be honest, what is the difference?

This is a good map. The cartographer is skilled. Why was this abandoned?

the borders are too thik and bold. They arent crisp at all. And the territory colors are not very appealing. try adding some texture. but the map has potential.

I agree. Maybe reduce the variety of colours could help too... a blue continent has some really dark countries, and others very lighter...

By the way, whats MHMusic?
