Original Draft.

Why?
This is the resurrected attempt (*ha  rising from the dead) on this map that has visited the Ideas Forum once before. There was a request to bring it back....perhaps get it ready in time for Seasonal Game maps that could be brought out of the box every festive season.
So here it is. Do your worst on comments.

1. The number of territories currently on the map.

Total 29
Graveyard 7
Animal Farm 6
Deaths Door 6
Witches Way 5
Dragon Heads 4
Spider 1

2. The number of continents.
6 Continents

Bonuses are on the map.

3. Descriptions of any unique features or areas.
There are no real unique features, but go easy on me as the graphics are by no way perfect yet, and there is a lot of work to be put into this one if it is to succeed.

For some reason I'd feel more attracted to this map if the grass was all earth tones...the color shift throws me off. But in turn that'll make it hard to show continents, but a thought nonetheless.

I said yes but I think seasonal maps are a stupid idea.

If a map is quenched, I want to play it whenever I damn well please.

I think the legend text could be a bit more readable. Maybe different font?

So the text under impassables and the riddles don't affect gameplay? I'm confused about that and you saying there are no unique features.

OK can do, what about the font that is used in the title?

So the text under impassables and the riddles don't affect gameplay? I'm confused about that and you saying there are no unique features.

Sorry edbeard, those "rules" do affect the play, i just meant there was not going to be anything too difficult about it like in some of my other maps. ;)
But the Riddles take care of that anyways.....as there are things that can fly in a couple of places.

When are you going to update the Development Atlas, please???

OK, putting one word in front of me unit_2 is a no-no...you know that.
I won't even go there and ask you to explain....you should know better. :)

let me see if I've figured this out

Wicked - the Witch can attack any territory. The same with Bat Cave and Dragon Lair.

Blackwidow Roost can attack any of the territories that the web covers.

Seems simple enough. I worry a bit about the use of riddles instead of coming out and just saying what does what.

Yes

Well i remember some people liked the riddle idea last time....kind of like trick or treat....perhaps i should call it that.

It is updated this week, Sunday it will be redone.

Please add color, lots of maps now days don't have color on them which I love.

Also how can you have a holloween map with no color?

The wicked/ witch thing is cool 8-)

Thanks Unit_2....great work in the Development Atlas btw.

I think there is still lots of colour in there even if we go down the road of the earth tones as requested by Andy.
Yeh---Wicked the Witch came to me in a twinge of genius.

This map looks like an overcomplicated game of hopscotch that someone decided to use as a dartboard for Halloween related clipart. It's effortless in all the wrong ways and would better be served on the back of a poorly translated generic cereal box where confusion and staleness come with the territory. This map has no rhyme or reason, much like a poorly written haiku, only with a longer lifespan.

My advice would be to take this witches brew of Halloween themes back to the dollar store where its ingredients came from and invest your time and energy into something that doesn't involve the strategic placement of brightly colored stickers.

I do have to agree with mibi here. I know the graphics just came out of the mothballed closet, but they need SERIOUS updating to fix the readability issues and general "uncleanliness" of the map as it looks right now. The best things on the map look-wise are the Castle and the legend in the bottom right. The rest is either blurry or unclear.

usually i would say to listen to mibi, but not in this case.
in this case him and TaC are basically being jerks

Sure the graphix arent that appealing, but were empire builders graphix appealing at first? no, but people still liked it (or semi-liked it)
besides the fact that they liked it even more i think after the graphix re-do

heres what i can see that needs to be done:

1) Slightly brighter/more colors
2) to me some things look blurry, but that might be just me
3) Under 'riddles' maybe actually put those things in riddles? but easy to solve riddles
4) Some of the pictures of things on the territs dont look so good....
5) U say 'no impassables' yet to me it looks like there is an impassable wall at the graveyard.

all i can think of now :)

1. can you explain further on the colours....from page 1, which of the two versions are preferable. Some want bright colours, Andy wants earth tones.
2. yes some things are blury because some images are so reduced in size. basically all of those icons have to be re-worked in my own fashion
3. please suggest these riddles, otherwise i would simply turn that heading into "trick or treat"
4. already discussed
5. yes there is a fence but there is also an open gateway that leads directly into toombstone terrace.
6. keep them coming.

in reply:

1) The colors on the first one are to dark, the colors on the second one are to bright, go for colors a little darker than the second
2) ok
3) I cant think of any good riddles.... oh well just go with trick or treat :D
4) ok
5) Yes but the wall could be considered an impassable, since u cant go from undertakers plot to tombstone terrace, or from tombstone terrace to witches castle/blackcat mews/undertakers plot
6) since u asked nicely :)

more feedback:

1) The bonus' text is most unreadable
2) i dont much care for the... blood? at peril rocks.
3) Whats that statue on wiccan beach? does it DO anything?
4) I like the gradient look u give some things
5) the tombstones are a LITTLE big for my tastes, maybe either
......a) make them smaller
or
......b) make the church larger
6) speaking of the church, u cant very well read part of the name, is it Allfellows? Allfellosos? Allfelloos? wrote down different ways i read it
7) maybe add a jack-o-lantern at the bottom of the wall with the halloween hollows on it?
8) Right now for dragons snout heads, it looks like it is farther away then cauldron bubble, which if im right is supposed to be right under it
9) Whats that thing between dragon snouts heads and the cauldron bubbe? is it an impassable or what? cause to me it looks like an impassable...
10) Maybe make the witch be flying across the moon? right now u have her on the far left side, try placing her in the middle
11) Love the look of the witches castle, nothing i can see there right now that needs done
12) Im confused by some things in the legend, here is what im confused by
.....1) The web only covers Animal Farm
.....2) The woods inkeepers, deaths door and witches way but not the witch
.....3) Sider owns the web & can bite you anytime (which btw i dont think it needs the - )

all i can see for now :)
