Why Are You Here?
Why are you here on these boards/playing this game?
Personally it was pure luck that I stumbled upon this site. For starters my laptop just burned out last week so now I'm forced onto my cousin's laptop for internet access and because her computer is so old and decrepit I can't play my usual games like Guild Wars and CS:Source. There is my XBox, but I've beaten most of my games already and because I was so disappointed in the state of the multiplayer in Halo 2 I cancelled my XBox live account last month.
So I decided to look for a new game. Then I saw my Risk board downstairs and though how I wanted to play but I could never find anyone willing to spend a good couple of hours rolling dice (heck even I was getting tired of rolling dice towards the end). We talked about how cool it would be to have the computer take care of the dice for us. One of my friends mentioned an online version where turns take only a few minutes each.
So 2 years later I decided to go and try it and hated it (because if you didn't finish your move in 30s-2m, it would kick you out of the game). So I looked up more about Risk in Wikipedia and found this site as one of the external links.
Now that I'm here I'm loving it. This site gives the best of both worlds, it's relitivly slower than instant speed which gives people time to think and plan, but faster than something like PBeM which takes way too long. Also I've been looking for a forum community to join since I stopped visiting forums frequently when I started College.
So an almost random string of events (laptop dying, may she rest in piece, me cancelling my xbox live account, me more or less randomly searching wikipedia) lead me here. What about you guys?

I was bored at work... Think of going back to college into something else.
I stumble in this site by hazzard. I'm a Webmaster and was checking for web sites that start with conquer, and I saw this site. Same as you, when I found out what it was and how it worked I fell in love with it.
Hope I kick your ass on the board

My friends and I play about once every two weeks, but I found that that just isn't enough for someone as pathetically addicted as I am... So I did a google search and came up with a few games (the best of which was Lux, imo). Then I got tired of constantly beating the computer and decided to try and google risk on-line...
The only problem is the games tend to take way too long. Hopefully lack sets up the speedgame soon, for those of us who like to play more than 5 turns a day.

How I found Risk online
Well it seems my story isnt as formillar around here as I expected, I recently moved in with my girlfriend and have computer use at home AND work, my sex goddess and I love the game and have spent a couple of nights taking turns swaping pleasures for conquering teritories, it took us a long time to finnish a game but no complaints here. Risk 2 on the computer was starting to bore with not enogh live play, and she got gamed out after about a month, late one night after a half a dozen rounds in the beadroom, I decided to take a little break, so google it was and on the first page that came up was the link to this absolutly awsome site and the rest is history by the way my sex goddess is a little pissed at u Lack, she says u stole my attention. Now I walk in from work and check my games first thing istead of chasing her into the beadroom, WELL HELL WE LIVE TOGETHER! WHATS 10- 20- 1HR LATER?

The reason i found it was it was posted in another online game called World @ War that is a lot like this and i have been playing that for over a year and we got talking about the similarities the main difference is age W@W is over 5 years old and still growing adding new options, forums and new players. Check it out were always looking for new players : http://wawgame.com
Well, actually, I had no clue how to play Risk a few months ago, until I started playing it at a Boardgame club at my school. Then, I got so addicted to it, I wanted to try to see if there was an online game of one on the internet, so I checked Google.
There weren't any proper Risk Games there, until I checked one at...boardgamegeeks.com, or something. There were a list of links there to online multiplayer games, and one of them was this. And now I've been addicted ever since.
