Re: Classic Map Touch-Up
why wouldn't you make a "New Classic" and have that be this new god aweful mess of a map, and have the original map be "classic" the way that it should be...
Re: Classic Map Touch-Up
couldn't you add the yellow style classic map?
Re: Classic Map Touch-Up
It's not our job to follow countless posts about map changes before they happen, but it is our right to comment on changes after they happen. We're not condemning the designers for their work, but it's obvious that that the old design was better. So simply change it back and let's move on. Don't try to be a big shot and make this into something larger than it really is. This is very simple: the old map was better. If people want an updated version also: hello! Leave both of them up?
Re: Classic Map Touch-Up
I dont like it either. nice try to improve but its not making things better this time

Honestly, I don't get the big deal. Looks fine to me.

I think the touch-up looks lovely
MORAN people play games instead of reading crap. 80% of the new maps are hiddeous anyway, why do you think most people play classic?
I'm sorry that you failed to say your grievances with this touch-up before it was quenched, but that option was open to you for three months.
Name calling, by the way, is not necessary. If you can't make your point without resorting to it, perhaps you should reexamine the validity of your point.

Re: Classic Map Touch-Up
The white circles under the armies makes it more difficult to scan the map and visually see where strengths and weakness appears. It is fine for attacking some one close but it is more difficult to get a big picture view.
I do not like it.
Can you offer a toggle between map views?

I think the touch-up looks awful, but lack said not to change anything or he'd break my arm![]()
I was campaigning for a new Classic map in the map foundry in mid 2006.
I left after sticking hundreds of letters under the managers door.
2008 - and finally we get this?

the new map is harder to use than the old map.

Re: Classic Map Touch-Up
Dang, I hate to add Classic to a list of maps I don't play, but it looks like thats the way it will have to be.

@Detractors: How about constructive criticism?
It's simple, the circles are bloody awful, get rid of them or at least make them optional!
I agree 100% YUK!

Ahoy Ahoy all new posters,
First, I'm glad to see some new users trickling into the forum--that is always a great thing, welcome!
As ZeakCytho mentioned, we actively run the Map Foundry. At any given time we've 20+ maps in some stage of production, all looking for comments, feedback, and criticism. The Map Foundry thrives on feedback and input. The cartographers do an excellent job at fielding suggestions and comments, shaping maps the way the general community would like.
I'd like to invite you all to be a part of this process in the Map Foundry. Stop by and let your voice be heard--comment on some of the great and interesting maps in production!
We are listening to your current feedback also, just so you know!
Thanks,
--Andy, Foundry Foreman

Re: Classic Map Touch-Up
guys I know I'm being pretty repetitive, but please do change it back. The changes, overall, are not very beneficial and the army circles are very distacting. However, I realize people put a lot of work into this and if it's going to stay, I'm sure I'll get used to it

why didn't you post it on the home page that you were going to change the classic map, you seem to think it was important enough for the home page afterward... I guarantee if everyone had known that this change was going to be made, we would have gotten in on it earlier
