Unknown Virus Kills Off Most of Humanity
An airborne virus spreads across the entire globe, killing mostly everyone it reaches. Some people (about .5% of the world's population spread across earth) are naturally immune to it. You are one of those people.
NOOO, adding a new option made the poll reset. I hope you are happy you women creatures!

Move to Las Vegas and do it right this time. Flagg has nothing on me.

I just think these types of stories/scenarios are awesome. I mean just think if it really happened... all our societal problems, jobs, money, schedules would go up in smoke. We'd be back to fight or flight... survival of the fittest.
Preferably I'd try to join up with some people that I may have known in the past, so that I could trust them. Then I would kind of just roam with them, looking for food and valuable survival items, and just see what happens. I would be hesitant to join a makeshift city right away. There would be too many people trying to take advantage of others. Small groups would be the way to go IMO. Just kinda lay low, pass the time, and see what happens.

This sounds like a movie that I've seen...
But a good one nonetheless. (See I Am Legend)

you're all sex starved weirdos.
if you're the leader of the gang, as i will be, you'll get your pick of the women. instead of the first mutant you happen to stumble upon who happens to have survived.
also, i call all of the sports cars.

have you ever seen an idealist with grey hairs on his head?
or successful men who keep in touch with unsuccessful friends?
you only think you did
i could have sworn i saw it too
but as it turns out it was just a clever ad for cigarettes.

I agree, that option is somewhat disturbing. Anyone who doesn't get it, check a dictionary.

Re: Unknown Virus Kills Off Most of Humanity
well there are many more movies out there with this theme.
here are a few off the top of my head, I invite people to expand on the list.
1- I am Legend
2-Night of the Comet
3-Last man on earth
4-The Omega man
5-Resident Evil
6- The Stand
I am aware there are countless post apoctiplipic books out there as well as movies. Lets see how many people here can remember in the movie genre.

I have never even see I Am Legend. I got this idea from reading a book called "Swan Song", which is about a nuclear war.

Sorry, all, but this is literally The Stand.
And, as Stephen King thought of it first, everyone else is just a poseur.

I've never read the Stand but I know of it (I read the dark tower). But I didn't base my post of it, I just wanted a scenario where there was no radiation, zombies, or hell on earth. Just most of the population dies, you and a few others live, so what do you do.

I'd probably take any surviving family and go to a warmer climate.
Focus on producing food, fuel and custom motorcyles, figure out how to fly pregresively larger aircraft until I find a nice transport like a C-130 unless I find a surviving co-pilot that is rated on a C-5 or some thing.
If my wife doesn't make it, mourn her then be a little smarter seeking a replacement.

I would go and salvage guns and ammunition. So if some tough guy tries to make me pull out me resources, the only thing i'll have to pull is the trigger.

There's a Twilight Zone episode that's pretty much this, I guess. A banker is in a vault when a nuke drops. He comes out, and every one is dead, everything is obliterated. Interesting episode.

I love the story By the Waters of Babylon.
But it's not about a virus. But the idea is the same as, say, I am Legend. We kill ourselves.
