hey. What would be wrong with me as a mod. As for Illy and Mtg I can't really say.

Re: [Merged] POST COUNTS
All of the above named users would be shit moderators.
Reason: There are lots of much cleverer people than them, and if we've learned one thing from previous CC moderating, it's that stupid people (and I'm not naming any names) make really rubbish mods, and that clever people make decent mods.

norse for mod of IK
Re: [Merged] POST COUNTS
Personally, I think that posts everywhere should count, as they are all made on CC sponsored forums,
OR
None of the posts anywhere "count" towards a total, and you post to add to a conversation no matter what or where the conversation is.
I personally wouldn't be opposed to the later option, but I think it should be all or nothing. It gives the biggest appearance of inter-forum "fairness" and "equality".
(my 2¢)

Crazy talk; those concepts have not yet arrived at CC, we prefer "slavish unquestioning rule adherence" and "arbitrary non-community supported edicts".

yes exactly. You should be posting for the conversation, not for the number. It doesnt mean anything anyway (the last time i said something similar, hecter popped in with an apey comment or something).

I'm not stupid. >_> And what I've learned from CC modding, is that most of them suck.

I could be a perfect candidate! Not many people know me, not many like me!
Re: [Merged] POST COUNTS
i think everyone who is incredibly upset right now, and thinking of reasons why posts should count should take a deep breath, sit down, and think about this for a second:
no argument needs be made by the webmaster or those people he's assigned to moderate his forums on his website. they made their decision, and don't have to justify it to all of us.
at the end of the day, this is still a service. a free service for many, a paid service for others. if the service is unacceptable to your desires, you are free to leave.
since so, so many of you are teenagers and have no fucking clue how the world works (even though, of course you think you do), i'll drop some knowledge on you right now. the greatest power you have, in any situation, is the power to leave. this is the most egalitarian power in a capitalist society. you as the customer have the power to leave, and to not continue to give your money to something you are dissatisfied with.
these same principles apply to those situations arising from being employed, being in a relationship, etc etc etc.
i know this is a long post, but think about it for a minute. if i'm not making sense here, then go back to hyperventilating and creating petitions, or else start growing up. but either way, drop this insipid thread and do something instead of whining.

have you ever seen an idealist with grey hairs on his head?
or successful men who keep in touch with unsuccessful friends?
you only think you did
i could have sworn i saw it too
but as it turns out it was just a clever ad for cigarettes.

wow you actually bring up a good point. We do have the option to leave if we want. The thing is we dont understand why they changed this rule in the first place, and basically i say if it isnt broken dont fix it.

not to condescend to you, but i've already told you why they "changed this rule in the first place".
because they wanted to.
they are under no obligation to tell you why they decided to make the change, their reasoning is their own, as the provider of the service with which you are dissatisfied.
either man up and adjust to the changing world, or else go beat your head against another wall. the wall you've been butting against has claimed enough of your brain cells by now, or at least, you should realise that at this point, please.

Re: [Merged] POST COUNTS
Just a question. how many threads have merged to this?
also i agree with showing both total post including and total posts excluding off-topic and usergroup posts.

well i dont see why they COULDNT tell us. It seems like the most reasonable thing to do now that people are asking.

this isnt flame wars. So calm down. Im not butting my head against any wall. So if theyre not going to tell us why thats a mistake on their part.
Re: [Merged] POST COUNTS
with so many of CC's forum posts belonging to the IK forum even with the forum upgrade, we have proven that we are not posting there because of the posts counts, we are posting because of the conversations and games (especially mafia)

I had considered perhaps trying to start some sort of boycott to see how much people really cared about post counts, but hit on two main issues:
1) It's an irksome change, but I don't really care that much anyhow.
2) I don't pay to play at the moment, so that would make me a terrible leader in trying to gain some sort of upper hand.

Re: [Merged] POST COUNTS
of course they should explain to everyone why they removed IK from the post count. we are the customers. many of us are paying customers.
failure to do so shows contempt towards us.
