Card Increase.....
I was wondering how many other players would be interested in a 'Card Increase' option?? At the moment obviously if you are holding 5 cards then you must exchange, but what if an option allowed a player to accumalate up to 7 cards before they were forced to cash in??!!
I think it could make for some interesting game play, as obviously the chance of holding 2 sets is vastly increased!
Opinions on this subject would be appreciated.

It would indeed be very interesting and strategically speaking it would take some getting used to. I like it and am usually for anything that increases the different kinds of games you can play.

Re: Card Increase.....
I agree with the earlier posts. It has the potential to make the game more interesting from a strategic point of view.

Re: Card Increase.....
This would be especially interesting in escalating games. I vote yes.
Also, to go along with it, there could be a third option: only 3 cards allowed. If you already have a full hand, every time you get a new card you have to discard one. Also of course if you have a set at the beginning of your turn, you have to play it.
It would add some nice variation to gameplay to have a 3, 5, or 7 cards choice on the menu.

Re: Card Increase.....
While I can see the 7 cards possibly being implemented (it sounds like a great idea, albeit one that may take some getting used to), the 3 card suggestion by ditocoaf I would, frankly, never ever play.
The 3 cards I see almost being like a "no cards" option, and leaves more to chance etc. which = more complaints from the people who whine about the randomness of the dice.

So they don't play it... we're not twisting your arm here...
Variation is introduced for those who -do- enjoy it, rather than those who whinge that things aren't fair. I'd play a 3 card version, just to see what it's like... It's not like no cards at all... because ... there are cards.... and if I wanted to play no cards... I'd play no cards.
I'm all for increasing the number of options available and think this (both the 3, and the 7) card limit option is a great idea.

players complain enough as it is about the unrandomness (was that a word) of the dice. lets not create more situations for them to hide their poor play behind random features of the game.

I dont like the idea. being forced to cash in cards sometimes helps the player losing catch up. there are rare examples where I get stomped coming out of the gates but catch up and win by collecting higher sets
Re: Card Increase.....
Great idea.... as previously mentioned it would be an option... like FOG e.t.c
If you try it and like it, you play it, if not, you don't...simple!
But having the option there would create a different type of game and new challenges.
What do we do to take this to the next level? harrass lack??
I knew you weren't just a pretty face Kick!

Re: Card Increase.....
In escalating you can make a run on all the players if you can cash then take out someone who will give you cards to make 5 or more, then cash again, etc. Time it right, bingo. Now with 7. If there is players with 6 or 7 cards you could cash with 5, have 2 left, take out a 7, and have 9 cards. possible 3 sets, then wham. Or cash holding 7, then kill, get 7 and have 11 cards, woah. I think it would add strategy for sure for very good players who position themselves well and know when they need to cash and when they are a target etc. but for public games you could use this option to really destroy people much easier I think.
However I would be interested in some people playing this way together and stating if it works well or does everyone cash at 5 or before anyway so they aren't a target. I would try them but it doesn't really seem like a good option for gameplay in general with escalating anyhow.
Re: Card Increase.....
I like the idea. It would add more strategy to cardsets if you were so inclined. And of course, it'd only be enabled on Flat Rate and Escalating.
I would suggest that you would only be able to cash if you exceeded the number of max cards on any setting. So you'd have to exceed 7 cards to cash again on a rampage.
