i would like to play
i would like to play peeps
someone recruit me
Team dragon dor / nachito... you have too many players with senior officer rank. Two majors and a captain can't play on the same team. If one of you want to play with silly_sil, I'll put you down for a team with two open slots. The other two would need to round up three NCO's (or lower)to fill out seperate teams in order to play.
Sorry if that's not clear from the tourney description... but mixing up team cooperation across ranks is the theme of this tourney.

dragon dor - we could not find "vinzz" to verify rank. Also, pascalleke has a senior/commissioned officer rank and so the two of you can't be on the same team.
The rule is 4 players/team. Each team has one commissioned officer + 3 non-commissioned officers or lower. Non-commissioned officers would be anyone with SFC, Seargeant, or lower. We'll also accept a team where the most senior officer is a seargeant in order to build up more teams, but we reserve the right to change that policy for new entrants at any time based on interest levels...
Rank is confirmed as of the time of sign-up and is good at the time or the tournament even if someone loses rank, etc.
I can put you down with silly_sil and two "players to be named later" if you like.
Thanks

1) My gut reaction is to allow any settings for the "home" battlefield that the commander/brigade selects. It would be consistent with the native soil advantage to have a "blitz" type map a la freestyle... of course there is no guaranty you'll get your home map (it will be decided by coin toss once Brigades are paired up).
2) Freemium can join. It will be one round at a time.
I've played a few of these maps but not all - they were selected by theme. If, by the time the tournament fills up, there are more war maps, I'll definitely add them on request (actually, I think Waterloo was still "new" when I started this... ) There's enough diversity of maps that I'd hope every team can find one that suits their dominant strengths...

Re: Brigade Commander Tournament - Quads (25/64)
On the freestyle question, one of the skills of a good commander is getting the troops to coordinate their attack. That might mean planning an elaborate coordinated attack in stages, or just a simultaneous assault on the other side. In the first tournament round, for a freestyle map, there would be a major advantage clearly to having all four fighters show up a the same time, and get out fast... but both sides will face the same RW constraints of getting four people to show up at the same time.
I will add one limitation, however. For a freestyle "home map", it would not be fair for the team that is last to the battle to get an advantage (i.e., agree that fighter #8 will email only his teammates before joining the game. So the rule will be that if a brigade chooses "freestlye" as their home setting, and that teams home setting is selected at random for the match up, no player on either side can take their first move for 24 hours from the time the game initializes. I will check this, and any team that violates this rule will automatically not just be bumped to a lower bracket, but will go before the war crimes tribunal
(i.e., you'll be eliminated because your troops will all be detained for investigation before the military court of gdeangel while the rest of the brigades fight on
).
Once you get past the first round of the match, I think its fair that a unit that can show up at the same time and launch a precisely time hit and fade operation gets a substantial advantage. This means freestyle games will probably end up being decided on the first round, but you never know... units have been known to put someone on guard duty!
