 Half of those were jokes, the other half are my opinions that I have often voiced here.

Kind of sad after kind of sad after saying just a couple things that I got so many people's panties in a twist! Besides, even by some miracle I were to become President, there are the checks and balances you know.

I find it kind of funny that a lot of you ignored my "annexing" Canada into the US.

As Robin Williams said: "You can buy thongs with the flag printed on. Why get worked up about someone burning it?"

I really don't get the whole flag burning thing. It's like cannibalism - if you legalize, there still isn't going to be any.

Yeah...are there any people actually burning flags in the US?

The homeless? I don't know. I really don't get the logic - making it illegal to desecrate symbols of this country is one step away from making it illegal to talk smack about the president and two steps away from criticizing the cuntry.

Well ofcourse it's a way of saying they are against dictatorships.......

Does this strike anyone as odd? Isn't the burning of the flag something that the flag actually stands for (i.e. freedom)?

Not quite sure I follow you on this. Unless you are implying it is ok to burn the flag as a "sign" for freedom of speech. Yet to me, that is saying you are spitting on what generations of people living in this country have fought and died for, disrespecting what so many have stood for. It is a symbol of my nation's pride.

No what I'm saying is that you really shouldn't get your knickers up in a twist about this. The whole reason those people have died for the country is that future generations would have freedom to do and say what they want. This includes things you may not actually agree with, shocking as it may sound.

I don't really see a reason to burn the flag, but I'm not going to say other people can't do it. Next thing you know we're going to tell women they can't wear jeans inside their boots or must cover their hair and body to make sure other men don't get horny ideas.

Flag burning shouldn't be illegal, but if you do it you're an asshole.

Exactly. We can't prohibit people from being assholes. (The amount of legislation we need would collapse the earth.)

There is one key fact you are ignoring here; Switzerland is a completely different country with a completely different general mindset. There's a reason Switzerland has a far lower crime rate than the US and it isn't more guns per square metre.

I'm not denying that the crime rate won't fall, just that the violent death rate will hugely increace.
Why risk death from threatening 30 armed customers, when you can just suprise them with a spray of bullets?

let's come up with a list first ppl so we can get all the ideas together. If I was the president of any country, I would seek to solve the health care issues there because I think it's the most important responsibility of the government.

If I was the president...
1.I would seek to solve health care issues.

Well just take a look at the awesomeness that is the USA healthcare system.

Then do exactly the opposite.

3? Whatever, I'll do as many as I please, thank you very much!

1) Make it next for whiners to make frivilous lawsuits so the courts can get on with their business.

2) Tighter border security; deploy the National Guard along the border and at all crossings, backed up by FBI, NSA, local and state police. Deploy regular Army troops if need requires it.

3) Keep the Graduated Income Tax and add a Nation-Wide Sales Tax (not alot more than 7 cents on the dollar).

4) Fine companies that outsource jobs upto the dollar value of the lost jobs. Put half the money back to the people in the form of a tax refund, half back to the schools.

5) Raise the Tariff on goods from China, steeply. If they boycot then they can suffer as nobody buys their crappy, poison-coated goods anymore.

6) Bring back the Civilian Conservation Corp; one year minimum, working with the Forest and Park Service to clean up or repair trails and Forest Service roads, repairing neglected infrastructure such as railways and areas of national or regional disaster (The California fires and landslides, New Orleans, etc.), can expect to receive tuition assistance and good wages.

7) In the event of a gangmember joining the armed forces, they are to be told that membership in ANY gang or other criminal organization is concidered treason and is punishable by death. Should they not terminate their membership in said gang, they will in turn be terminated.

I make no guaritees that all that I propose will not be rough, but it is what needs to be done.

1. stop sandwich shops from describing their food as gourmet. it is just a two pieces of bread with various fillings.

2. add 10 years to the sentence of any crime involving a gun, regardless of whether it was fired or seen.

3. ban people from describing themselves as african-american. i have looked on google maps and i can't find the country african-america anywhere.
