In all likelihood you won't find me looking up your games but that is not to say anything except that I do not participate in more than 10 games at any one time. I mean how does one focus with so many games opened? Are they computers or something?
Due to the limited number of my games, I tend to exclusively seek out high quality challenge. I play a mix of team games and standard, sometimes more of the former, other times the latter depending on my preferences at the time.
For example, my "A" team is already above 7500 pts and to play 7000 to 8000 pts team or above is not uncommon for me.
At the end of the day, I have found that skillful players enjoy playing with other skillful players what ever the outcome. This is just a natural state of things.

I think the point I wanted to make and didn't do a good job of it is this
I see a lot of backslapping and buddy-ism going on in these forums. Congrats ______, good job ____, etc etc. I don't want to take away from the sick skill of some of you guys, you are no doubt much better than me and many others. But please, until you play more than 2% of your games non team and among the lower ranked player where anything can happen (durr, it is called Risk), including n00bs kicking your ass for the SA or Oceania bonus, save all the pomp and celebration for your little clan message boards on other sites you set up for yourselves.
You basically took your really good skill, worked your way through the lesser skilled players amassing a lot of points, then hopped on a team and shifted over to just playing team games or games against other high ranked players so you can keep your score high. Yes you are good, but you aren't a god.
Play more noob games and keep your score high or admit that you can't keep your score high by doing so, then you'll get my respect.

Set up some games and invite some slightly higher ranks, thats what everybody else did ! Yes I know your freemium but thats your choice so dont whinge about a situation you can easily change. You complain that ranks wont play lesser ranks yet when they do you call it mining points, unscramble your brains man. If you want to play a heap of games with joe anybody then thats your business but dont tell others who they must play, personally I dont enjoy games where I am targeted and suicided or have to watch play so crap that it brings tears to my eyes.

Does your CC rank mean that much to you?
Just now, I selected Standard, Terminator, Assassin, public, waiting for players
and in 4 pages of scrolling through, I saw 1...1 person (a Major) higher than Captain in all those games.
Just admit, you guys aren't true ballers and wouldn't have near the rank you did were you to actually play games with us lower ranked folks. You aren't that good. You just game the system with your team games, your private games, and your clans to ensure your rank.
Wow.
I can't imagine how mundane your lives are.
Really? Look at my games. A good 60% are 1 v 1 speeds, not private. 30% are free 6-8 player games, not private. 5% are teams, not private. And the 5% of games that are private I have either been invited to or joined for a better challenge...

Could not have said it better myself comic.... and cypherX, your reasoning is ridiculous. I play tons of public games and I am a major. My dad keyborn and I have played so many doubles games (public... just search for finished) to get to where we are. There are plenty of ways to "climb the scoreboard". A lot of people play games they love, not games that others like, that way they have more fun. I quit playing classic ages ago due to the fact that everyone knows how to play it and you can't enjoy the map when it seems like every game you are in, someone suicides into you for the oceania or s. america bonus.

yeah, you totally figured me out. i hit captain recently, and now i am never going to play anyone that doesnt have at least 500 points more than me again
that would also explain the amount of games i opened for anyone to join. look at the list of games i am playing. theres some team games with friends, but mostly its 6 player free for alls. and public. so dont give me that shit. you could have found me bout 50 times in those searches.

This thread brought to mind the the present game Im playing. Notice ClanLord Carl is more then happy to ally when it suits his game. Now that he is about to lose he threatens suicide and the like.
The game has been fun for the most part but frankly Im tired of the bs. Im surprised Ive lasted this long.
High and med levels are more then happy to farm unsuspecting newbs for points yet god forbid they actualy know how to play. the guys about to lose and he wants to suicide.
He doesnt want to lose the points.

You complain that ranks wont play lesser ranks yet when they do you call it mining points, unscramble your brains man.
Do I have to spell everything out for you? The high ranks only play the low ranks when they are on teams and in games they are basically guaranteed to win (them + their high rank high skilled buddies vs noobs). They won't play single player games where they can't control the outcome. That is, if they play a "standard" setup (standard, escalating, unlimited) on nearly any map, they aren't nearly as good their rank implies. Look, there is nothing wrong with having a high rank and protecting it, but please, save us all the grab assing and back slapping you do of each other. It's like, the playground bully beating up the retard then thinking he is owed some sort of respect because of it.
If you want to play a heap of games with joe anybody then thats your business but dont tell others who they must play
Are you drunk? No one has told anyone here what to play. When I read this stuff, I ask myself, how old is the poster that made this comment?
personally I dont enjoy games where I am targeted and suicided or have to watch play so crap that it brings tears to my eyes
Thank you for proving my point. If we all gamed the system like you did, we'd all have high scores. Stop self congratulating when you avoid the "real world" because you are afraid of being suicided or targeted. Want some cheese with that whine?
Is that a joke or just a generalization?cypherX wrote:They won't play single player games where they can't control the outcome.
That setup is for impatient players who only want quickies (no foreplay) and think 20 rounds is a really long one.cypherX wrote: [...] a standard" setup (standard, escalating, unlimited) on nearly any map [...]
CAUTION: watch out for premature elimination

I love morons like you who have achieved nothing in the game and yet feel free to make generalised assumptions, if you think avoiding poor players is gaming the system then you are a prize buffoon for a start. Furthermore I challenge you to actually look at my team games then come back and concede just how wrong you are, I wonder how old you are if you dont realise that by criticising others choice of opponent you are by extension telling them who else to play.

Hahah. You're just the type I figured this thread would reveal. You're bothered by it, because it's correct. So, I actually have to achieve something before I can make generalized observations about who is playing what games? Really?

Is it or is it not true that high ranked players don't like playing noobs becuase they are afraid of getting targeted and suicided and losing their hard earned points? We already had one admission of it in this thread, and now you are telling me I don't know what I am talking about?

What am I supposed to find? The statement I made about high ranks playing low ranks only on team games doesn't have anything to do with your games. The fact that your team isn't playing low ranks certainly doesn't disprove my point you mailboxhead. If anything, scanning your games just proves my points even more. You play a TON of private games with other players ranked at your level. You play team games against high ranked players. That doesn't mean your team couldn'd mine for points if you cared to take the time. Wow, talk about self pwn, you just did it.
I wonder how old you are if you dont realise that by criticising others choice of opponent you are by extension telling them who else to play
No, I'm sorry, but what sort of world do you live in, one devoid of logic? P doesn't imply Q here my friend. I can critisize a heroin addict for sticking needles in his vein, but do I care if he does it? Nope. It's just commentary, an observation of what I see lookin at the games. The fact that I have you so stirred because of this thread helps solidify the validity of my observation.
Wacicha don't play that.
Opening 50 games now - open to all.
Hmm that could me I am Taking advantage of the New People or it could mean ALL MY Friends will join.
Hats off to all the high class people over 2000 in this thread that always join my games pitting there points against both veterans and new alike without any alliances.

Yes really
When you have actually played a few of the people you are commenting on and actually got to know them then you will be in a position to talk with a degree of accuracy, until then its just worthless piffle you are spewing out. Why on earth you think it odd that good players like to play those of a similar standard is beyond me, that happens in real life you realise

I am above 2000, and i like playing low ranks, they are very funny and make me laugh
...when they make horrible moves
...when they make horrible moves
Re: High ranked players = true wimps
I don't care about ranks, i only play standard games, but maybe i'm just not very good
I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is.
Re: High ranked players = true wimps
Firstly, I agree wholeheartedly with the basic premise of the original post but not his sentiments.
The majority of high ranked players play games types that protect their points and avoid types that are more likely to result in defeat and or heavier points loss.
My basis for this is that I have just reviewed the games of the top 40 CC players. 95% of those games are either;
6 player triples games / 4 player doubles games - one team of highly ranked players used to playing with each other wiping the floor with a team of individuals (interestingly I didnt manage to find a game where the experienced team didn't win) - this game type was very much in the majority
Private games against player of similar ranks - thus reducing the risk / reward issue
1 vrs 1 public games - again reducing the risk / reward
Freestyle games - any experienced freestyle player that can use timing to greatly influence the result of the battle
Interestingly I couldn't find more than a handful of public games played by the top 40 players that were true risk format,
4-8 players, flat rate, sequential
The only reason I can think of is that the result of these games is left purely down to stategy and the role of the dice. The risk of losing points and the amount of points a high ranked player can lose is too great.
The evidence of this bias towards certain game types is clear and unarguable. If anyone wants to check it my findings, be my guest. There are exceptions but very few.
The important things is though - I DO NOT CARE and do not begrudge the top ranked players their postions, they do what is required to get to the top of the board and stay there. They have no obligation to put that rank on the line, why should they, if they did someone else would only step into there position.
Personally only like to play 6-8 player, standard, flat rate / no cards, sequential. If this means that I am going to struggle to get to the top of the rankings then so be it, it is my choice. I don't have a right to force that choice on other people.
