From an artistic standpoint, Italy is tops. Beautiful, easy to look at, has a professional quality to it...

reading some other comments... I would have to agree that RJ's stuff is the nicest to look at... although considering the combination of IDEA and DESIGN has to go to DiM's Age of Merchants. Was this the first map using such a new and unique way of calculating bonuses?

I like the retro-comical feel of Duck and Cover. I like the clarity and style of Indochina. I like the Google Earth feel of San Francisco. I like the color scheme of Canada.

yep it was the first and many people hate me for "destroying" the classic style of the game

sometimes i appreciate the simpler classic play... breeze in-evaluate-make move-breeze out...
But sometimes I am in the mood for something more.. I like that map.. certainly don't hate you for it, DiM!
And I love the stressed parchement look... very nice!

I think 8 Thoughts is the best looking map. But I feel I may be biased. lol
Anyway, the best map as far as where the art supports clear honest gameplay is easily Italy. It's very clear and nice to look at.

The American Civil War map is really a great looking map. Very appealing color scheme and symetrical layout!

not me... i hate you because of one of two things. it is either because you smell like old cheese OR because you smell like toe jam... either way, my hatred for you is not fueled by your destruction of the classic style of the game.-0

No one has mentioned the Siege Map. This map changed Conquer Club and the style's of maps coming out of it. As did KoTM, which is also really nice good quality and had CC buzzing at the time.
They set the bar.

I love Great Lakes. Many of the new European country maps--Italy, Portugal, what have you--are really nice to look at, too.

AoM has a nice old-school quality to it, and South America has a good color scheme that matches the actual landscape.

I have returned from a hiatus and noticed that Canada and Indochina have had a decent makeover. Why not the Classic Map?

I think the WWII western front is pretty cool
I don't want classic to get a revamp, I saw when they tried and it was horrific
