The Netherlands; also called Holland...

Post by Hout »

First I've had to say hello to al the players here!
For several weeks ago I'm invited to join this game. As a great fan of the boardgame RISK I thought "what the hell, I'll join this game and find out if I like it" And what do you think??? I like it!
But I've found a less of players from Europe (except the UK)... I'm wondering if I'am the only guy from The Netherlands (or the rest of Europe; like Belgium, Germany, France, etc).

Please let me know, I'm very curious...! :?:
Am I the only one who speak dutch?

I couldn't trace it to one cause.

It could be the characters from books, the waffles, the fries, the culture, or just the fact that the word Belgium is really really cool!

That and it's in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

There's a few Irish people, myself included, playing here.

If you look at the world cup thread you'll see there's a good amount of people from all over.

Well actualy we dutch are not rasialy or nationalistic in general.
The dutch history goes hand in hand with lots of trading with foreign powers and kingdoms.
Check out the forum:"De veroveraarsclub" :!:

And the dutch played a big role in forming Europa.

Please express tour opinion and castyour vote in the poll "luck" vs strategy.
Thanx for doing so

The various religions are like different roads converging on the same point. What difference does it make if we follow different routes, provided we arrive at the same destination.

Come on!!! English beer is best and when we're talking strong beers I think Special Brew (Dutch) has got to take it

There's strong beer, and theres beer to take the park, when your home is a park bench.

I grew up drinking Tennents super, as when your nicking beer aged 14, it's best to steal 2 cans of something lethal, rather than try and get 4 cans of something nice.

and because I was stealing beer in the least best watched areas - it was from the shelf & store warm.

warm Tennants super is fucking horrible - but I got used to it. I tried experimenting with it. I had Tennents & galloways cough mixture mixed one night (when i had a cough) and that was nice. Tennents drunk through a McDonalds straw with a small hole bitten in the side of the straw is also recommended if you wish to kill lots of brain cells. But as I evolved a palette and a wage packet - 5% lagers are the happy medium. 1664 is hangover gear every morning, holsten Pils is for girls.

Special Brew, if very cold has a very unique flavour and is alright - but I've developed a requirement for quantity each evening, and drinking 3 cans of Stella allows me to wake up next day for work - instead of waking up on a park bench.
